The VPL-HW65ES is Sony's line of SXRD cinema projectors. This is a sample of a film projector balanced on all fronts with an “honest” FullHD image resolution (1920x1080 pixels).

Reflective Matrix Technology

The device is based on LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) reflective matrix technology. With it, you can achieve excellent contrast, combined with bright and saturated colours without the “rainbow effect”. The UHP lamp delivers 1800 ANSI lumens, a good 100 more than its predecessor, the Sony VPL-HW55ES. The lamp unit has been claimed to last over 6,000 hours (with economical use).

optical zoom

The projector is capable of deploying an image with diagonal sizes from 1.02 to 7.62 m at a distance of 2.5-9 m from the screen. Its optical system has a fully manual control. In this case, the optical zoom ratio is 1.6x, and the model also has the ability to shift lenses in vertical and horizontal directions. Sony VPL-HW65ES feels best in medium and large rooms.

Pro League

The projector's chipset supports Reality Creation Advanced and High Frame Rate technologies, providing a realistic and smooth picture with natural colours. The image processing system uses Motion Flow technology to smooth motion artifacts in highly dynamic scenes. In addition , the model is prepared to work with active 3D glasses — it is equipped with a built-in RF adapter. Glasses will need to be purchased separately. In terms of connections, the projector has two HDMI inputs without any alternatives.
