High performance verticutter with powerful petrol engine and excellent battery life. It is positioned as a product of the upper price category, focused on professional use. It features excellent mobility, designed for long working sessions on large-area ornamental/sports turf. Special spring steel knife elements of the working shaft make multiple punctures of the surface layer of the soil (turf) and comb out the tangled stems of dead plants, moss and other debris from it. This treatment thins out the grass and greatly facilitates the access of water, fertilizers and oxygen to the root system of plants. The Stiga SVP 40 B verticutter is equipped with a durable shaft with 32 knife elements. As a power plant, a Briggs & Stratton B&S 550 Series single-cylinder 4-stroke petrol engine (127 cc wi...th 3 hp) is used, which is characterized by increased environmental friendliness, reliability and reduced noise levels. Synchronous adjustment of the working depth/height is carried out by a 5-stage switch. There is a 50-litre soft grass catcher to collect straw particles, dry roots and moss combed from the lawn. The verticutter is equipped with wide plastic wheels that evenly distribute the weight of the device (37 kg) over the lawn without damaging the vegetation. Easily operated with adjustable folding handle, takes up minimal storage space.

Aerator for a plot of 15 – 20 acres

The Stiga SVP 40 B gasoline-powered aerator is equipped with a good, economical and fairly quiet “four-stroke” Briggs & Stratton with a working volume of 127 cm³. It is equipped with a primer that makes it easier to start the engine (especially in cool weather). According to the engine power (3 hp or 2180 W) and the volume of the fuel tank (1.8 L), it is clear that this verticutter is intended for processing medium-sized areas (less than 15 – 20 acres).

Knives are not enough

A special feature of the aerator is the knife system. Firstly, there are a lot of knives on the shaft — as many as 32 (two times more than the rest of the verticutters). Therefore, the aerator very, very carefully loosens the ground and qualitatively, without missing anything, cleans the surface of dried grass, moss and fallen leaves, putting all the garbage in a 50-liter cloth bag. Secondly, the knives at the aerator are “floating”. They are not welded to the shaft, but are fixed on spring suspensions. Having bumped into a stone, the knife does not break off, but “folds”. Thanks to this design, the risk of damage to the knife system, as well as the shaft and bearings on which it rests, is reduced to almost zero. Therefore, the Stiga aerator is more reliable and durable than products from other manufacturers of garden equipment.

Not very cheap but worth it

If you want easy and hassle-free lawn care instead of fiddling with tricky machinery, then Stiga products are the right choice. However her price is by no means “democratic”. But the quality and reliability of garden tools of this brand are unlikely to make you regret your choice.
