One of the most successful models of garden electric aerators of the 2018 model year from a well-known Swedish manufacturer of garden power tools. It is positioned as a product of the middle price category, intended for domestic and semi-professional use in the local area. It is a device for improving the lawn, which is performed by creating punctures in the upper soil layer. This treatment facilitates access for fertilizer, water and oxygen.
The Stiga SV 415 E aerator is equipped with two types of actuator. The first, with 44 spring teeth, is designed for high-quality aeration, and the second mechanism, equipped with 20 loosening knives, can perform scarification (removal of dried grass, small pruning and rejuvenation of the lawn). The working depth is infinitely adjustable from -13 mm to +4.5 mm. The aerator is equipped with a practical and capacious 50 liter bag for collecting root residues and straw. Additional advantages of using such a tool are a significant reduction in the amount of moss and fertilizer savings. With decent performance and a working width of 38 cm, the aerator can be used for amateur and semi-professional landscaping. A large extension cable or cable reel is required for connection and operation in the house/garden/park area.

Small, compact, yet quite powerful. Two working heads with blades and rakes Convenient height adjustment Setting the hopper straight is difficult, there are no guides, so it may be crooked and rub against the rear wheel. |

The set includes two working heads, one with steel blade hooks and another with spring-loaded rakes. I haven't used the second one yet, but I will need to change it and see how it works eventually.
The aerator is set very low relative to the lawn, and it should cut small grooves into the soil, about 1-2 cm deep, to give plants access to air through the soil. The top layer of old soil is more like a crust where nothing passes through.
When you cover the entire plot with the aerator, and as you look at your work, you might gasp and be horrified. It will look like a gray cemetery from horror movies. But now, calm down and take a deep breath. It's necessary. In about a week, you'll see the results of your work if you did the aeration in spring.
Generally, it's recommended to do aeration twice a year, in spring and autumn. But I think it all depends on the condition of the grass and soil.
The device is powerful and requires a certain skill to operate. It will try to move forward and drag you along with it, but you must not let it happen. You need to go over the area slowly to allow the blades time to puncture the soil.
