Save Smart
Transcend JetRam is one of the most affordable DDR4 RAM modules on the market. Only cheaper are products from little-known Chinese brands that often skimp on quality control: one batch works fine, another repeatedly fails, leading to applications crashing without saving data or even a complete system freeze. With Transcend, such problems never occur, as they make their memory modules exclusively from thoroughly tested chips.
Overclocking Every Day
The manufacturer of the RAM chips is not disclosed (likely one of the "holy trinity" of Samsung, Micron, and Hynix). But clearly, newer revision chips are used — B-die, C-die, or possibly even H-die, confirming good overclocking potential. Depending on the particular memory sample, as well as the processor and motherboard (overclocking is always a gamble), Transcend modules can overclock from the base 2400 MHz to 2933 or even 3200 MHz. An impressive result for budget-friendly memory, isn't it?
Low Voltage and Timings
However, even if your motherboard or processor does not support memory overclocking, the standard speed specifications of Transcend JetRam DDR4 are still decent. For example, the version with a frequency of 2400 MHz and CL17 timings delivers a bandwidth of 19 GB/s, and the 2666-CL19 version provides 21 GB/s. Available in 4 and 8-gigabyte modules, all with low operating voltage of 1.2V, reducing the heat of the processor and motherboard MOSFETs.
Minimal Heat
Transcend JetRam itself almost doesn't heat up and doesn't require heatsinks. It has long been known that they serve more of a decorative than a cooling function. However, covering the green textolite of the modules (with some competitors, it's at least black, matching the motherboard) might be worthwhile. But this only matters to owners of PCs with a transparent side panel. On the other hand, the absence of heatsinks minimizes the height of memory modules, thus solving the problem of installing large CPU coolers. Transcend also produces DDR3 memory, relevant for assembling new PCs based on AMD FX processors or upgrading old ones.
