Relays, Voltage Stabilizers, UPS Systems, and Surge Protectors: What to Choose to Protect Your Devices from Power SurgesUnderstanding the tasks and situations for which power strips, voltage relays, stabilizers, and UPS are suitable.

How to choose a surge protectorWe consider from different angles the issues of protecting household appliances from too high or low voltage
This is my second Voltaire stabilizer, I’ve been using it for six months. (I bought the first one in 2009 with thyristors, it still works) 1. No voltage drops (lights never flicker), the lifespan of bulbs is extended. 2. During the interruption or restoration of power to the apartment, electronic devices are turned on and off "smoothly." 3. Practically no background noise in the speakers of the home theater system. (Initially bought ETALON and there was noticeable noise in the speakers, switched to Smart - MINIMAL noise, doesn't bother me) it might be individual and depends on the quality of in-apartment wiring, so pay attention to this when purchasing. 1. Sometimes, when the load is 8-11 kW (operation of the electric stove, washing machine, air conditioners) - it hums; sometimes such a hum can occur with a smaller load when energy-saving lamps are turned on. 2. The placement of the screen showing the voltage readings, buttons adjusting the output voltage, and switches on the right side edge of the device is very inconvenient for me, as shown in the photo. |
Installed in the country house - absolutely thrilled with it ))) A very reliable voltage stabilizer. Until recent outages, I didn't even think I needed a stabilizer, as the voltage was usually more or less normal. Starting from October 2025, the voltage in the network has been fluctuating between 185 to 265 volts. It was urgent to choose a stabilizer. After installation, I completely stopped worrying about the network voltage. Loved the manufacturer's approach - lifetime warranty. Installed it in front of the Deye inverter, works flawlessly. As for drawbacks - the display only shows voltage, it would be great if it showed the power drawn from the network as well (but I don't know if such a feature exists anywhere). Also, the display is always backlit - for me, it's like an indicator of network power presence, but it would be great if the backlight could be turned off. Great stabilization range - from 110 to 380 volts! Silent, compact size, charming design, with a display, frost-resistant, lifetime warranty from the manufacturer Always-on display, no ability to connect to smartphone |
