Internal (embedded) server hard drive with a capacity of 1000 GB from the WD Scalability line of 3.5" HDD drives, which includes models with a capacity of 1, 2, 3 or 4 TB. It is a high-quality drive, the design and firmware of which are optimized for solving long-term storage problems in NAS arrays and servers. Can be used in RAID arrays of data centers. The standard SATA3 interface is used for connection, so the WD SE WD1002F9YZ hard drive can also be installed in workstations and universal multi-purpose systems. This model uses the classic magnetic CMR method. write, providing high read-write speed, and the high rotation speed of the magnetic plates (7200 rpm) reduces delays. The proprietary RAFF (Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward) balancing technology optimizes the performance of the dev...ice when operating in conditions of vibration created by multiple drives. With active cooling, such a drive can be operated 24/7. Its firmware is optimized for operation as part of RAID arrays and supports Time-Limited Error Recovery (TLER) technology, which prevents the device from falling out of the array.

How to Choose a Hard DriveUnderstanding how to choose the right HDD for gaming, video recording, server, and other tasks
Model overview based on user reviews
The WD SE SE hard drive is highly regarded for its reliability and suitability for server use, making it an excellent choice for data storage rather than as a system drive. Users appreciate its high quality and durability, especially when compared to standard consumer hard drives, which may fail more quickly. The drive is praised for its high data transfer speed of up to 6 Gb/s and is recommended for professional use in data centers due to its robust features and innovations that minimize data loss risks. While some users wish for a larger buffer size, the current 64 MB is generally considered sufficient. Overall, the WD SE SE is a powerful and reliable storage solution for those prioritizing data integrity and performance.
Pros

Cons

Excellent drive for server and PC.

One of the best drives for RAID. It wouldn't hurt for a home PC either — enough for the system and for 10-25 games. Windows Server 2008R2 loads in 15-20 seconds. My drive has over 15,000 hours of use, everything is fine, not a single bad block. The disk is quite affordable for such quality and performance. The drive will power down without a load due to APM, which needs to be set to 255.
Reliability, cost, speed.
The APM factory setting is 128, which is not good.

great model, love it

Designed not for simple computers, but for servers. This means it is of excellent quality. I specifically looked for this model. I am using the disk not as a system drive, but specifically for data storage; the operating system is installed on an SSD. But I'm not storing porn from the internet there, but videos that I constantly process. In other words, what I earn money with. Of course, for that kind of money, you could get a model with more impressive specs, but I don't care about that much. The main thing is reliability. I previously had a regular hard drive from Samsung. It failed after six months of use, taking a bunch of data with it to the grave. I managed to recover everything eventually, but not without some swearing and hard work. I've used this one for only three months so far. No complaints yet.
They just aren't there.

good model, I liked it.

A powerful and reliable storage device for data centers. As a professional, I highly recommend purchasing it. There are plenty of reasons to buy this drive. It offers a reasonable cost for being positioned as a corporate model that will operate continuously. High reliability in preserving corporate data and minimal risk of data loss thanks to a host of "hardware" features and innovations - these are also positives for the device. Also - high data transfer speed. Up to 6 Gb/s!
Would prefer a buffer size larger than 64 meters, although it's quite sufficient.
