In general, the design is discreet, concise, the assembly is reliable, and the only drawback can be considered the excessive soiling of the gloss, on which fingerprints remain and dust is clearly visible.

YST-SW215 is a representative of the low-cost segment and is designed for home use with the ability to connect broadband passive speakers, for which the device has high-level output terminals. Also, the model is equipped with RCA inputs and high-level inputs.

The subwoofer has a 12-inch magnetically shielded cone driver, 120 W output power, 28 – 200 Hz bass range and standard control options: 50 – 150 Hz phase, level and crossover frequency adjustments in 10 Hz steps.

Technology on guard of sound

Also, the model uses the manufacturer's patented technologies: Advanced YST (Yamaha Servo Technology), designed to ensure the correct movement of the cone for a clearer sound stream, and QD-Bass, which allows you to achieve deep and clear low-frequency sound.

There is also an interesting function of switching between the modes "music / movie" Bass Action Selector System (BASS), with which you can improve the sound picture in a particular situation. In Music mode, the bass becomes more accentuated and punchy, but loses power and depth. In the "Cinema" mode — on the contrary, there is power and depth against the background of some blur.

We were also pleased with the presence of the Standby / On mode, in which the subwoofer consumes only 0.5 W / h. In addition to manual mode control, there is also an automatic one — AUTO STANDBY, but it does not always work correctly.

For complete happiness, the kit lacks a cable for connecting speakers, but this shortcoming can be easily fixed with an additional purchase.

Model YST-SW215 is an excellent subwoofer with high-quality sound at an adequate price for rooms up to 20 m²., easy to operate, compact, pleasant to look at.
