Model overview based on user reviews
The Yamaha YST-SW216 subwoofer receives mixed reviews from users. One user appreciates its soft and spacious bass, noting that it pairs well with a Pioneer receiver in a smaller room, providing a satisfying rumble. However, another user criticizes the subwoofer for its terrible bass and weak amplifier, stating that despite efforts to adjust and find the optimal placement, the sound quality remains poor, only tolerable at minimal volume. While the design and materials are praised, the amplifier's performance is a significant drawback. Overall, opinions vary, with some finding it suitable for smaller spaces, while others are disappointed with its performance in larger rooms.
Pros
Cons
The subwoofer is good, in a not too large room it will do its job perfectly... The bass is soft and spacious, not gigantic. Paired with the Pioneer receiver in my room, the 3x3 rumbles perfectly. The switch is aggressive and gentle bass. The speaker cannot be seen. |
Absolutely terrible subwoofer. Bought it for the Pioneer S-ES3TB system paired with a Yamaha RX V373 receiver. The room is 18-20 square meters. I spent 2 days adjusting it and achieved absolutely no improvements, the sound quality is terrible, and it can only be listened to at minimal volume. So I walked around the apartment with it, looking for the best spot for it to play, and it sounds best in the hallway. The materials are good, the speaker is good. The amplifier couldn't be worse. Compared to the home theater system Pioneer XV-BD212, it has more low frequencies and a deeper bass. The speaker is 4 times smaller. I do not recommend buying it under any circumstances. Good design. Terrible bass, very weak amplifier. use Yamaha YST-SW216 few months |
