Model overview based on user reviews
The Zalman Wattbit II series, including models like the ZM400-XEII and ZM500-XEII, offers a range of power supplies that are generally well-received for their affordability and functionality. Users appreciate the quiet operation and ample connectivity options, such as multiple pins for processors and video cards, making them suitable for various system builds. While some users have experienced minor issues like a barely audible whistle or early failure, these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule. The power supplies are noted for being cost-effective and providing nearly full wattage output, making them a solid choice for budget-conscious consumers looking for reliable performance without unnecessary features like RGB lighting. Overall, the Zalman Wattbit II series is recommended for those seeking a dependable power supply for undemanding systems.
Pros
Cons
An excellent power supply for undemanding systems. For assembly into a Mini-ITX case, it was perfect. Since the assembly is cold, this unit is not very noisy - 200 watts in games. You can hear it, but mostly at night. It's not noticeable with headphones or during daytime noise levels. Zalman, although it's not as good as it used to be Without LGBT lighting No obvious drawbacks |
Due to the mine boom, I decided to take a video card from the used market. And powerful video cards of previous years require 8 pins, 6+6 pins, etc. Consequently, that’s why I thought about a new power supply, so that there would definitely be no problems with power supply later. Among state employees I looked at Fsp, Zalman, Chieftek was already more expensive. Stopped at Zalman. In my case, it's quiet. There was some rustling for the first couple of days, but I couldn't determine the cause, whether it was the PSU or something else. A large number of pins. There's an 8-pin for the processor, and 2x6+2 pin for the video card, more than enough. Outputs almost the full 500 watts at 12V. According to online reviews, it has some system protections against failure (I'm not familiar with the details). A very barely audible whistle comes out. My system is very quiet and you can only hear it if you listen closely. Again, I’m not sure that this is exactly a power supply, but as for me, there’s nothing else. It’s not critical, as I already said, it’s not audible during normal use. Maybe even a marriage. |
