Silver Medal

Zalman ZM700-GV2SE is a power supply of South Korean origin with an 80 PLUS Bronze certificate and two Cybenetics awards. The first one, ETA Silver, indicates a high efficiency level of 88 percent at a load of about 50% of its nominal power. The second one, Lambda A-, signifies a low noise level of the standard fan with an HDB bearing: quieter solutions among budget models are almost non-existent.

Interference Filtering

Up to 40% of the maximum load, the fan remains almost inaudible, then gradually ramps up the speed in the range of 18 to 36 dB. The design is based on circuitry with separate line stabilization DC-DC and active power factor correction Active PFC, reaching values up to 0.99. An EMI electromagnetic interference filter is installed at the power input. In standby mode, the power supply consumes only about 0.5 W.

Solid-State

The high-voltage capacitor is rated for operating temperatures up to 105 degrees Celsius, equivalent to 221 degrees Fahrenheit. The low-voltage capacitors are made in a solid aluminum casing, which further increases their thermal resistance. Most cables are implemented as flat ribbons for convenient and neat layout, and only the 24-pin motherboard cable is enclosed in a round sleeve to prevent twisting.
