Acoustic Energy Reference AE300 Speaker Stands (Pair) Gloss Walnut Stands

Designed to compliment the AE1 Active 500 and 300 Series models both in looks and performance. Rather than just an aesthetic match to the our loudspeakers the "Speaker Stand" is a true performance product in its own right. Most stands fall into one of two camps – stiff and light giving a speaker life and "bounce" while sometimes losing out a little... morein outright bass weight – or mass-heavy giving solid and powerful bass while sometimes robbing a speaker of some life in the higher frequencies. The Speaker Stand is different and better. It offers the best of both worlds – relatively mass-light to ensure speakers retain an upbeat and lively nature. Included with the stand are our isolating speaker support pads offering a perfect performance coupling between speaker and top-plate without need for cabinet-damaging spikes.

Continuation of the success story

In the case of the AE 100 line, the English company Acoustic Energy raised the bar of quality incredibly high, which caused a lot of questions in the specialized press. Chief among them, can they repeat the success with the new 300 Acoustic Energy line? Can they surpass?

Sound 11 out of 10

It looks like they did: there are not many reviews yet, but there are already strong buy recommendations from Trusted Review and Hi-Fi Choice, which claim that for its considerable price, this is a very, very impressive speaker. If the quality of assembly and design is a solid five here, then the sound is all 11 out of 10 points.

Acoustic Energy 300's ability to sound large and confident, but at the same time somehow relaxed, if not imposing, deserves special praise. Acoustic canvas evenly fills the room, which is not expected from speakers of this size. A very useful feature for rear speakers. If we consider them as the basis of a Hi-Fi system, then finding acoustics of the same level with a price tag of $ 800 to $ 1000 will be extremely difficult.

New generation speakers

Such compliments are largely due to the previous series of Reference speakers, on which Acoustic Energy engineers made a number of improvements. For example, instead of paper, the material of the main speaker is now pressed ceramics and aluminium.

The second improvement is an aluminium dome tweeter and a WDT (Wide Dispersion Technology) waveguide that evenly fills the space with high-frequency sound. Although according to the AE300 passport, they remained approximately at the same level: 100 watts of power per channel, the frequency range is from 45 to 30,000 Hz.

Improvements have also been made to the quality of the finish: the low-resonance cabinet is made of 18 mm thick MDF, and braces and baffles have appeared inside to strengthen the cabinet, as in the Reference series.
