aOC's 32-inch monitor is an entry-level gaming solution. The model received a thin frame and a curved panel with a radius of curvature of 1800R, which creates the effect of immersion in what is happening on the screen. The resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, taking into account the large diagonal, gives acceptable clarity, but as you get closer to the display, graininess becomes noticeable (pixel size 0.36 mm). The AOC C32G1 monitor is based on a VA panel with a fast response time (1ms with MPRT technology). The high smoothness of the picture required by gamers is provided by a refresh rate of 144 Hz, which is also “reinforced” by FreeSync synchronization technology. Users are offered various options for connecting to a PC: two cables (HDMI and DisplayPort) are included, in addition, a set of...interfaces is also represented by a VGA connector.

One of the most affordable gaming monitors

The Taiwanese AOC has been developing monitors and plasma panels for many years (the foundation dates back to 1934), but it broke into the east european market relatively recently. AOC products attract with a combination of an attractive price, high quality and a complete absence of unnecessary bells and whistles. Take for example the hero of this review, the AOC C32G1 is not just an excellent gaming monitor (good curved VA matrix, 144 Hz, 4 ms response time), but one of the most affordable 32-inch models for gamers.

Fast matrix with excellent colour reproduction

The eight-bit VA-matrix has even deeper blacks than IPS, has a full colour gamut of 122% of the sRGB colour space. And this is a pretty cool bonus, which allows us to safely recommend the AOC C27G1, if not for professional, then at least for amateur photo editing and video editing. For games, the 1800R screen radius of curvature allows for a more immersive effect and largely solves the problem of colour inversion and geometry distortion when looking at the big screen from a close distance.

Nothing extra

Thanks to a neat leg and thin side frames, the monitor looks great and is unlikely to create problems when placed in the interior. In terms of additional chips, everything is very limited here, you should not look for fashionable RGB backlighting or HDR support. The AOC C32G1 stand can be adjusted in height, and the monitor itself supports useful Flicker Free, FreeSync and Shadow Control technologies. The first eliminates the flickering of the LED backlight of the matrix and, thereby, reduces eye fatigue during prolonged work at the PC. The second synchronizes the frame rate in games with the screen refresh rate (from 30 to 144 Hz), which eliminates image tearing and improves the smoothness of the picture. And the third highlights especially dark areas of the screen, so that it is better to understand what is happening there — is it an enemy lying in the bushes, or just a stone.

Against the background of all this, only the plastic edging looks like a drawback, which does not fit snugly against the screen, which will eventually collect dust in the cracks. Well, the resolution could be made higher, Full HD at 32" is not for everyone.
