Design

The case of the Asus VivoBook Pro 15 is a smart combination of plastic and metal. The palm rest and top cover are made of anti-fingerprint metal, while the bottom cover and bezel around the screen are made of plastic.

Screen

The display of the laptop has a resolution of Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) and is made using TN + film technology. A matrix with a brightness of 220 cd / m2 and a contrast ratio of 515: 1 is quite suitable for everyday use. The factory calibration is slightly warmer, so everything is a little more yellow than it should be. Also, the screen lacks viewing angles, but the presence of an anti-reflective coating will be a nice bonus.

Iron

It is equipped with an Intel Core i7 7700HQ processor (Kaby Lake generation) with a clock frequency of 2.8 GHz in conjunction with a discrete video accelerator NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with 2 GB of GDDR5 video memory. The amount of RAM is 8 GB, which can be expanded up to 16 GB, type DDR4.

Performance

The laptop does an excellent job with all office tasks, and also provides the ability to comfortably play some modern games at high graphics settings. For example, the notorious GTA 5 at Full HD resolution (1920x1080 pixels) and high settings produces 65 fps, and the demanding Witcher 3 — 38 fps.

There are two drives: a 1000 GB HDD and a 128 GB SSD. This allows you to store software and Windows on a fast drive, and data on a regular hard drive, which is undoubtedly a plus.

The laptop can operate on battery power up to 6.5 hours, and fast charging can charge 60% of the battery in 49 minutes.
