In 2019, be quiet! released a new line of Pure Power power supplies to fill the gap in the entry-level segment. Naturally, “entry-level” was defined with the company’s high standards in mind, so in practice it turned out to be a very solid and virtually silent power supply rated at 600 W, with 92% efficiency (80+ Gold) and a price around $100.
Quiet as a whisper
The internals are traditionally based on designs from the renowned FSP. The circuitry isn’t as advanced as the company’s top models, but it’s far better than other entry-level units. To cut costs, the motherboard cables are non-removable, so owners of modded cases with clear side panels might not love this option. The main difference from the previous Pure Power 10 line lies in the 11th generation’s efficiency boost from 80+ Silver to 80+ Gold. The new models received various optimizations to passive and active components, including added heatsinks. The filtering capacitors in the ATX cable were removed. As a result, you get higher efficiency, less heat, smaller dimensions, and a slightly lower noise level. At 75% load, acoustic noise is about 10–15 dB, and at maximum load with elevated operating temperatures it never exceeded 30 dB. In other words, either silent or very quiet.
80+ Gold
In terms of performance, the new Pure Power 11 proved better than typical budget power supplies. Output voltages were stable, ripple/noise stayed low, and real-world efficiency fully matched the Gold standard. All this makes it easy to recommend for anyone looking for a high-quality, quiet, and powerful power supply for a strong workstation or gaming PC, but who doesn’t plan on multi-GPU setups or extreme overclocking.
