Model overview based on user reviews
The Dell E2420HS 24" monitor offers a true 8-bit matrix with bright and accurate colors, although it may not match professional monitors in color calibration. It features an adjustable height stand and stable build, with a design that includes anti-glare treatment and even backlighting. While the monitor is generally well-received for its image clarity and stable stand, some users have reported issues such as a high-frequency squeal and dead pixels. The lack of modern connectivity options like DisplayPort and a refresh rate limited to 60 Hz are noted drawbacks. Despite these issues, the monitor is considered a good budget option, with built-in speakers that are adequate for basic use. Overall, it is a high-quality monitor for its price range, suitable for users who prioritize affordability over advanced features.
Pros
Cons
After the 24 inch monitor I am not disappointed. Screen, brightness and contrast, image clarity. The stand is stable and adjustable. The presence of speakers for listening to news, for example, is another plus. The control buttons on the front side are almost invisible and easy to access. Response time and the lack of a more modern DisplayPort input. Frequency only 60 Hz. use Dell E2720HS less than month |
I hadn't dealt with Dell before, a 3-year warranty made me think they were attentive to quality, but it turned out... such a disappointment... I thought about returning it, but my mom liked the monitor a lot, so I'm glad for that, she won't notice the dead pixel, and the buzz won't bother her since she sits about a meter away from the monitor. Regarding the stand, it's somehow very abrupt. The monitor shoots up like it's on a catapult, and you need to make an effort to lower it back down. The monitor doesn't wobble like a sausage; it stands firmly. The stand is very heavy, made with care, at least in that aspect. As for the speakers, they're like typical laptop speakers, I liked the sound, not sure why everyone complains. These aren't expensive speakers or monitors, just a bonus. -True 8-bit matrix -No glow and even backlighting (specifically chose a framed screen as they encounter less glow) -Adjustable height stand -Thought the frames would be a problem aesthetically (used to a frameless screen on my main monitor), but no, they are not as large as in the photos and do not catch the eye -White is absolutely white, not yellow, not warm. -Colors are quite bright and accurate, but if compared to my main professional monitor with calibrated colors, of course, the Dell lacks everything, but budget decides here - 9k rubles versus 15 - The first meeting started with a wild high-frequency squeal coming from the top of the monitor. I read reviews, many wrote about this squeal, but I didn't expect it to be so loud - In the center, slightly above, there's a fat black dead pixel, visible on blue and purple tones, not visible on others - Also, this plug on the back for the VESA mount just pops off. The Chinese clips don't fit as they should - The monitor does not overclock at all, this was mentioned, but I believed in "my own abilities". Through CRU, any value above 60 and the monitor goes to a dark screen with a screensaver recommending 60 hertz, very sad (p.s. those who don't see a difference above 60Hz - go for a walk, your eyes only see 24 FPS). I used the included HDMI version 1.4 cable |
