Very satisfied with the purchase 2K resolution is just optimal for 27+ inches Viewing angles are excellent thanks to the IPS matrix - Brightness - 60 hertz |
UltraSharp U2715H is a versatile 27-inch model that will suit the overwhelming majority of users. Overall, the image quality and ergonomics are excellent. The matte finish does not glare, the viewing angles are close to ideal, pixelation is not noticeable, and importantly, backlight flicker has been eliminated. The ergonomic stand allows you to adjust the screen position for maximum convenience and rotate it vertically. A built-in light sensor would be helpful, though it has not yet become an essential feature even in premium models.
Advantages of IPS Matrix
Color reproduction, like other models with IPS matrices, is good. The monitor is suitable for amateur graphic work and photo editing, but may not satisfy all professionals: coverage according to the CIE1976 standard is 91%, and sRGB is 99%. If you are looking for a no-compromise solution, consider the U2713H model with coverage of 120% CIE 1976, Adobe RGB 99%, and sRGB 100%. However, it costs about one and a half times more than the U2715H (around $1000).
Touch Control
However, this model is not without flaws. According to online reviews, some units experience backlight inconsistency. For example, one corner may be slightly brighter than the other three. This is common in many IPS displays, including TVs. This flaw manifests itself during movie viewing but is imperceptible while surfing. From an ergonomic perspective, there are two points to pick on. The first is that the device does not "know" how to automatically select the input receiving the signal, which has to be done manually, which is inconvenient if you have multiple sources connected to the monitor. The second is that not everyone liked the touch buttons.
Compatible with Apple Computers
Two HDMI inputs with MHL 2.0 support allow for connecting mobile gadgets for video or photo viewing. The Display Port and Mini Display Port connectors make the monitor suitable for use with Apple computers. Included is a "Mini DP-DP" cable. This, by the way, allows Mac Mini owners to save significantly on purchasing the expensive 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display. Incidentally, the Dell monitor has two profiles with settings—for PC and Mac.
This model has a headphone/speaker output and a USB hub with five USB 3.0 standard ports. Interestingly, the monitor has an output (DisplayPort) for connecting another display. Given that the U2715H has a very thin bezel, two such models could make a good tandem for work, for example, for designers or programmers.
