2018 model year gaming motherboard based on AMD B450 chipset with AM4 processor socket. Designed to work with AMD CPUs with Zen microarchitecture, namely: Ryzen 3/5/7 (including Pro) first and second generation (Summit Ridge, Pinnacle Ridge, Raven Ridge) and Athlon 200GE models. Corresponding to the ATX form factor, it is positioned as a middle-class product designed for assembling performant home and gaming systems. The Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO motherboard supports up to two high-performance graphics cards (AMD 2-Way CrossFireX). 4 slots for DDR4-2933/2666/2400/2133 modules can operate in dual-channel mode, and the maximum possible total memory capacity reaches 64 GB. This is enough for any game projects, casual software and the vast majority of professional software packages. The presence...of two ports M.2 (32/16 Gbps) and 6 SATA3 (6 Gbps) allows you to create a high-performance storage subsystem with bootable NVMe SSD drives and RAID arrays of level 0,1,10 from SATA- devices. There is an integrated Intel WGI211AT gigabit network controller and a Realtek ALC1220-VB 7.1-channel HD audio codec with an improved analogue path and support for high-impedance headphones. For connecting peripherals, numerous USB ports are provided, including high-performance USB 3.1 and USB-C.

Perfect balance

Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO is an excellently balanced model based on the modern B450 chip, which takes its toll due to a successful combination of functionality and reasonable cost. It is perfect for assembling a gaming system with one graphics card and the possibility of overclocking.

All required connections

In the arsenal of the board, you can find a reinforced power subsystem, 4 DDR4 slots, a pair of M.2 connectors with cooling radiators, a pair of reinforced PCI-E 16x slots, an Intel LAN controller with the ability to prioritize traffic, an improved audio subsystem on a top-end codec (there is even an optical input ), a well-thought-out cooling system, a modern set of video outputs including HDMI for using processors with integrated graphics. Numerous USB ports are provided for connecting peripherals, including high-performance USB 3.1 and USB-C.

Since this is an AMD B450-based device, it means that it supports all AMD Ryzen processors available on the market and is capable of overclocking them out of the box. However, compared to gaming boards based on X370 and X470 chips, the Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO has limited overclocking capabilities in the BIOS. It's as if Gigabyte's engineers have decided to play it safe from the excessive enthusiasm of overclockers. Therefore, when assembling a performant system, the perfect pair for this board would be Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X caliber processors, which do not really need overclocking.
