Gigabyte B460 AORUS PRO AC
Photos 6 | Outdated Product A well-equipped mid-range full-size ATX gaming motherboard based on the 2020 Intel B460 chipset. Unlike previous boards based on B360/B365 chipsets, this model is equipped with an LGA 1200 processor socket that supports 2/4/6/8/10-core 10th generation Intel Core i9/i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron processors (Comet Lake core, 14 nm). Does not support overclocking, but received a reliable 10-phase (8 + 2) power subsystem with additional aluminium radiators for long-term stable operation under heavy multi-threaded gaming and computing loads. In addition, the Gigabyte B460 AORUS PRO AC motherboard is equipped with a built-in high-speed 2.5GbE LAN adapter and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11a/b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth 5.0 support). It is intended for a complete set of game computers, multipurpose household sys...tems and workstations of a basic level. Equipped with four DIMM slots supporting up to 128GB DDR4-2933 RAM. Thanks to the PCI-E Gen 3.0 16x connector with a reinforcing steel plate, it is suitable for installing massive and large-sized top-end video cards with multi-slot cooling systems. |

Gigabyte B460 AORUS PRO AC is a perfectly balanced model based on the modern Intel B460 chip, which takes its toll at the expense of an upgraded functional set, which is unusual for motherboards of this class.
Integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules
In the arsenal of the Gigabyte B460 AORUS PRO AC, there are a couple of features that make it stand out from other middle-class motherboards. Firstly, it is a LAN port with a bandwidth increased to 2.5 Gb / s. Right now it is unlikely to be useful, but in the future it will not be superfluous. Secondly, this is an audio subsystem based on the high-end Realtek ALC1220 codec with an intelligent headphone amplifier that automatically adjusts to their impedance. The third trump card is a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen2 port, which now flickers mainly in overclocker boards. You can see that for a board for $200 and not even on a top chipset, this is not enough. And you will be right. In this case, the price tag is justified by the built-in Wi-Fi modules (Intel 9260, which operates in two bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.
High-quality performance and high-quality circuitry
The circuitry corresponds to the high level of Aorus products: a reinforced 10-phase power subsystem, a two-section VRM heatsink with large heat-conducting plates and high-quality thermal pads with mosfettes. The connectors are also in order: 4 DDR4 slots, a pair of M.2 connectors with cooling radiators, a reinforced PCI-E 16x slot, a modern set of video outputs including HDMI for using processors with integrated graphics. To connect peripherals, numerous USB ports are provided, including USB-C.
The price tag bites
Whichever way you look at it, Gigabyte turned out to be an excellent board for above-average builds. The only problem with the price tag, asking $200 for a formally mid-range board is a dubious idea. For the same money, you can look at something based on the Z490, which will not have restrictions on processor overclocking.
