Model overview based on user reviews
The Gigabyte P-Series 2020 power supply units have received mixed reviews from users. Many appreciate the quiet operation and the availability of long, flexible cables, making them suitable for various setups. The units are noted for their stability under load and the presence of essential protection systems. However, some users have reported issues such as loud squeaking under heavy load and unattractive cable management. The P1000GM model, in particular, has faced criticism for whistling noises and poor warranty service, especially in Ukraine. While some users find the units reliable and well-performing, others suggest opting for more established brands due to these concerns.

I bought the PSU in November 2020, version P750GM. I got it for a system with an R7 5800X and an RTX 3080. 1. Handles the system. 2. The fan is very quiet. I thought it wasn't working, but placing my hand by the rear of the unit while gaming confirmed everything was fine. Even if it was loud, against the backdrop of the 3080 running at full speed and the Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU cooler, it still wouldn’t be heard. I don’t hear any other extra noises or crackling. 3. Rich set of cables. The cables themselves are thin, long enough, and flexible enough to be routed through the Cooler Master MB510L case as I wanted. 4. The unit is quite heavy. And as Boris the Blade said, "Heavy is reliable." translation: 1. For 2-3 weeks, there was a persistent "new" item smell from the unit. This was also during use in the old system with an i7 2600K and GTX 1066. Now, there has been no smell for a long time (surely the corona couldn't last more than half a year?). |
The budget novelty of 2020 from GIGABYTE, introduced in June, I really liked it among budget options. I was choosing for a long time between Chieftec Proton, Be quiet System Power 9, or Gigabyte P-Series 2020 but eventually settled on GIGABYTE. Chieftec and Be quiet have been on the market since 2017-2018 and have gathered a lot of reviews over this period, some say the fan is noisy and others that the capacitors crack, etc. I have doubts about this, and I think all models are good. But I decided to try something new, and besides, this one is a bit cheaper)) and you don't need much for assembling a work machine. Somehow this PSU is excellent for me. Nothing is noisy or cracking, genuinely quiet. The cables are black flat and very long, suitable for any case. For assembling a 10100+GTX 1660 SUPER, you can safely take it. quiet not detected |
Maxim used it for 1.5 years and returned it under warranty. Refund issued. - - |
