The minimum energy consumption is slightly below 1200W. So the 400/800/1000W modes are just divided by time periods of activity/inactivity. Accordingly, if you want to cook from reserve, the power source should be able to supply at least 1200W on a continuous basis. Another strange thing is that I didn't notice the heating turning off in the 1000W mode, although the actual consumption is the same as at 1200W. Is this mode just for show?
