An LTE modem with a Wi-Fi router function is one of the younger models of the Huawei brand line. The portable router is made in the form factor of a USB stick and is powered by USB. It can be used both at home or in the office (when there is no fixed Internet), and in the car (when using cigarette lighter adapters or having a USB v2.0 port in the cabin). The Huawei E8278s modem is compatible with SIM cards of various telecom operators, supports data transfer technologies for networks of different generations (from the second to the fourth), including LTE.

In conditions of no or poor network coverage, additional MIMO antennas can come to the rescue, amplifying the signal. On the body of the device there are several special connectors for their connection. As a router, the model supports Wi-Fi 3 and 4 wireless networks, and can “distribute” the Internet simultaneously to up to 10 clients (devices). Among other features, it is worth highlighting a practical swivel connector, a slot for memory cards (microSD up to 32 GB is supported, and this drive can act as a network storage), as well as light weight and compactness of the modem (98x32x14.2 mm).
