I've been eyeing this splitting ax for a long time. I don’t have much experience in chopping wood, about 10 cubic meters. But I realized that you need to have a good, reliable, convenient tool for yourself. Save energy, nerves, and enjoy the work of the robots. And so, for a long time I went to acquire a normal tool, there were and are all sorts of Russian ones with a wooden ax handle that always dries out, FIT with a plastic ax handle and blades on a 2kg piece of iron, which chops very poorly. There is a kraftool 3.6 kg, although it chops everything, but the performance is low because it is heavy, and besides, there is a gap between the ax and the ax handle. All this means that people don’t waste money, nerves, energy and time on junk. Now about the HUSKVARNA S2800 axe, it has an excellent design that is not found in any ax from any company, even branded ones, this is reinforcement and protection in the problem area of the axe. For this alone, Husqvarna is in first place. The balance is at the very connection of the ax with the ax handle, hence all the power of the blow at the end of the ax. As soon as I received it, I immediately tried it on the widest stumps over 50 cm. It cuts in half the first time, there are no knots there. I was pleased with the maneuverability and convenience. I finished off the split quarters of the stump with one hand, holding the ax near the iron protection, it was convenient and not heavy (I am not a hero of average build). I thought that for this weight you need an ax handle of 90 cm, like on a craft, but I realized that with 70 cm. With an ax handle, the swing and acceleration of the ax is sharper, resulting in a stronger blow and splitting. Very pleased with the design of the axe, satisfaction from the work. The cutting edge of the ax is not sharpened. But this is a cleaver; it stabs not with its sharpness, but with its camber and weight. The second drawback is of course the price. Still, it’s a brand; among the alternatives, the same Gardena ax has a slightly lower price or the same price. The third drawback is that the manufacturer claims that the ax is coated with a special paint that makes it easier for the ax blade to slide through the wood. May be. This is more of an advertising ploy. (After some time, the coating will definitely wear off!) To the touch, the paint on the cheeks of the ax after work became matte to the finger, not slippery, tenacious. Then they would cover it with some kind of Teflon coating. And most importantly, the cheeks of the ax have traces of processing from milling, which will in no way contribute to easy sliding in the wood. But these are minor things, my quibbles, so to speak. The ax splits perfectly! Verdict: to satisfy my soul, when the factory paint peels off, I’ll sharpen the cutting edge, sand the cheeks with a small circle on the grinder, and paint it with Teflon-containing paint. just bought Husqvarna S2800 i recommend it should buy |

The conclusion is do not spend money on second-rate axes with drying, breaking, or cracking handles. I recommend purchasing a reliable, high-quality, convenient, and beautiful axe with a unique design, which will become a reliable friend in the forest, at home, and at work. There's a video on NTV on YouTube where they test axes for strength, and Gardena (also Husqvarna) has the best result of 2700kg, after which the handle broke! You definitely won't break it with your hands. I've seen many broken Fiskars axes, but I haven't seen a broken Husqvarna yet. That's another reason to buy this axe. A friend received the axe for me, he immediately fell in love with it and bought one for himself too, just a more universal felling one at 2400kg. They don't look much different externally. A big plus is the beauty and aesthetics of the product.
And dear readers, depending on what you need (a splitter or an axe), on the label of Husqvarna and on the handle of Fiskars there’s an indication showing "splitting" or "chopping." Don't make a mistake when choosing! Some people dissatisfied with the result and performance when splitting wood don't even realize what they have in their hands, whether it's an axe or a splitter, even though it might be heavy. It's all about the difference in sharpening angles, cutting edge thickness, width, and cheek flares. Each has its own purpose. Be attentive and maintain safety.
