Fibreglass

— material in the form of glass fiber filled with plastic filler. It is notable primarily for the combination of high strength and lightness — fibreglass itself has a small weight, besides, the handles are often made hollow. In addition, unlike wooden ones, such ax handles retain their working properties regardless of storage conditions; accordingly, the attachment of the blade remains secure even after a considerable period of time (comparable to the lifetime of the blade itself). On the other hand, fibreglass is much more expensive than wood, such handles are not allowed to be replaced, moreover, they are rather weak at damping vibrations and can spring, which requires care when working.
