Charging station with a battery capacity of 24 Ah (518 Wh), designed to power and recharge several pieces of household and computer equipment, the total power of which does not exceed 500 W (short-term load surges up to 1000 W are allowed). The manufacturer claims that the life of the battery installed in the UPS exceeds 1000 cycles. The Jackery Explorer 500 Charging Station has one regular outlet, three USB A ports and a 12V DC output. A powerful LED flashlight is built into the UPS case. It is possible to charge the station battery from solar panels (not included).

The Jackery Explorer 500 portable power station is sharpened for backup power of several units of computer and low-power household appliances, as well as for charging mobile gadgets.

Rated load

The number "500" in the expanded model name indicates the rated load connection power in watts. At the same time, the charging station draws out short-term pulsed power up to 1000 W, which can come in handy by the way to start the power unit of a conditional refrigerator. The storage of food supplies can autonomously operate from a mini-power plant for 7-8 hours. The average TV will stay afloat for the same amount. As for charging mobile phones, the conditional Apple iPhone 12 is fully charged from the battery of the device over fifty times.

Battery Li-Ion NMC

The main protagonist of the Jackery Explorer 500 is a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt-oxide Li-Ion NMC battery with a capacity of 518 Wh. The battery has a high specific capacity and a stable discharge voltage, withstands temperature extremes and is fire resistant. The connection of consumer devices to the charging station is established through a single 230 V outlet with a pure sine wave output, a trio of USB A ports, a 12 V car outlet and a DC connector on the same 12 V. Symmetric USB type C with a quick charge function in the model why - is not provided.

Visualization of operating parameters

To display the operating parameters of the power plant, an information display with graphical data regarding the remaining battery charge level and load power is used. Nearby on the front panel is a powerful LED flashlight. The battery of the device is charged from a household outlet (in about 7.5 hours), a car cigarette lighter socket, a generator or a solar panel, which is purchased separately. However, on the shelves of electronics stores there is a modification of the device with a solar battery in the kit - Jackery Explorer 500 + Solar Saga 100W.
