excellent model, I really liked it
3 July 2021
I've been riding with a speaker like this on my bike for over a year. The quality is great—the sound is actually pretty decent for such a tiny thing. What I like most is the little cable for connecting it to a music player. When you're riding all day, you don't want to drain your devices' batteries by using Bluetooth.
Great product! Long-lasting, virtually indestructible, waterproof, and with excellent battery life. The rubberized clip is excellent.
Everything about it suits me.

Excellent all-weather outdoor speaker for bike rides
21 April 2017
I love cycling while listening to music. But doing that around town with headphones on isn’t a very good idea. You know how car drivers here treat cyclists. So you need to stay alert—or rather, keep your ears uncovered. That’s exactly why I bought this little wireless speaker for rides like these.
In terms of price positioning, this is a budget device, but its design and build quality will give many "Chinese top models" a run for their money. It’s very well made and looks outrageously stylish (I chose the red version). The metal clip carabiner can and should be used to attach it to a bicycle, clothing, or a backpack. The speaker is completely waterproof, so there’s no need to worry if you get caught in the rain; the only potentially weak point—the micro-USB port—is covered by a reliable rubber plug. Until I turned it on, I didn’t really believe the reviews praising its sound. I mean, can such a tiny speaker really sound good? I’ve checked—it can. I don’t know how the designers managed it, but it can even reproduce bass. Although, of course, there is a bias toward the mid and high frequencies, and denying that would be silly. It also has a decent battery capacity and easily lasts an entire day.
The rubber plug on the port is very tight. I understand that it ensures waterproofing, but prying it out every time to recharge the speaker has become a bit tiresome. You can move the Bluetooth source away from the speaker by no more than 4–5 meters without risking the connection dropping. Beyond that, the signal is lost.
Great speaker. Sounds cool. If you work some magic with the equalizer m

Excellent speaker
Water resistance, carabiner, compactness, sound
The AUX cable looks a bit flimsy.

The second version of the "baby" from the JBL brand, which is rightfully a trendsetter in the production of portable acoustics, you can safely take with you to the beach, picnic or hiking. Also, the speaker will be the right company when riding a bike.

Reliable carabiner

The secret of JBL Clip 2's versatility lies in the equipment of a reliable metal carabiner, with which the speaker can be attached to anything. What can I say, some tech geeks managed to insert two such speakers into the ear tunnels, which we still do not recommend. But on a backpack, a bicycle frame or on a belt — it is the place for it.

decent sound

Inside the plastic rubberized housing of the speaker, there is one 40 mm 3 watt emitter. Despite its modest size, the sound quality of JBL Clip 2 can be described as clean and pleasant. Only the bass is missing, which again rests on the dimensions of the “baby”. Playing tracks is not the only "horse" of the model, since it can also be used as a speakerphone when talking on a mobile phone.

With or without wire

Pairing the speaker with other devices is carried out via a Bluetooth wireless network or using a cord with an audio jack, which, as unnecessary, is hidden in a niche on the back of the case. The task of managing the speaker is carried on the shoulders of the buttons on its board: volume control, call acceptance and wireless connection.

Water protection

When going out into nature, the "baby" will help brighten up the mood under a sudden downpour — protection according to the IPX7 standard protects the inside of the speaker from failure when it is exposed to moisture and even dives under water. The most vulnerable spot — the microUSB port for charging the built-in battery — is covered with a plug, which is criticized for tight opening. This nuance is certainly not worth considering as a serious minus, and the 8-hour battery life with continuous music playback should be attributed to the category of the speaker's pluses.
