Excellent sound and battery life. It can be placed behind the sofa, behind the Christmas tree, under the table, or in a neighboring room, and it will bang powerfully from there. It perfectly replaces cheaper pair (or likely non-pair) speakers for people in small apartments and families who enjoy relaxing outdoors. Good protection of the diffusers with rubber inserts, as well as the protection level of the speaker from external influences. A truly sturdy and reliable body. The black version has a concise and somewhat minimalist design. A wide, voluminous, and soft base allows the speaker to transfer acoustic waves to the floor directly from the body, simply by placing it on it, and adds stability. An additional and sizeable powerbank. The fact that I had to change my phone was very disappointing (most likely this is an issue with the Redmi Note 8 Pro itself, but still). Therefore, I recommend checking your devices for compatibility before purchasing (I had a stuttering problem only on this phone, even though I tested it on 6 more expensive phones, as well as on a cheaper Honor 8c, which did not reveal any issues + on 3 laptops and 3-4 other devices). Heavy weight. This little guy weighs almost 6 kg and this is significant due to its shape. Despite its grip-friendly design, it rubs against the leg when carried + it has a considerable weight itself, so the mesh material of the main body will chafe the legs when carrying if you're wearing shorts. If you're looking for an expensive, premium portable speaker, JBL's Boombox 2 is the one for you. For almost $500, you get a modern, fashionable gadget that reproduces powerful Hi-Fi sound and more.
Power in every line
The speaker is made in the best traditions of compact and powerful JBL boomboxes, which became the founders of the style. Like its predecessor, released in 2017, Boombox 2 received a rather large size of 26x48x20 cm and a solid weight of almost 6 kg. At the same time, the case is perfectly balanced and does not create problems when carrying, and the convenient handle only simplifies it.
Thanks to IPX7 water resistance, the boombox can be easily taken to the beach or to the pool without fear of dropping it into the water. The case is absolutely sealed and withstands short immersion up to 90 cm.
Rocking the dance floor
And yet, despite the external solidity of the system, its main advantage is the sound. The Boombox 2 has two 106mm woofers and two 20mm tweeters with a total output of 80W in mains mode and 60W in battery mode. Support for a frequency range of 50 – 20000 Hz allows you to reveal all the details of the composition. The sound is very bright, balanced and clear, especially in the upper and lower ranges, which is a hallmark of JBL. The bass really shakes so that the vibrations go not only through the floor, but also through the body.
Of the other "goodies" of the system, we note: a capacious battery, designed for a record 24 hours of operation, AUX, Bluetooth 5.1., work in power bank mode. But the disadvantages, in addition to considerable cost, we would include the lack of support for the aptX codec. And then some inferior Hi-Fi turned out.
Excellent battery life (there were a couple of times when I forgot to charge it, and the speaker only asked for "food" on the 2nd or 3rd day).
There are some drawbacks with Bluetooth 5.1, but I'll write about them in the corresponding section. Nevertheless, in 3 and 4-room apartments, there were no connection issues, even with northern brick walls. A firm grip, with rubberized protrusions both below and above the handle, features a wide, semi-transparent rubber strip. This is important considering the mass of the speaker, and it is not small.
The packaging consists of dense and sturdy cardboard plus serious plastic fillers that, coupled with the speaker's own protection level, will likely protect it even from a fall from human height without consequences.
Regarding the beauty of the box design, I see no point in writing - the main thing is strong cardboard and reliable polyethylene foam.
PS I recommend using paid apps for better sound quality, as otherwise it won't reveal its full potential.
PS I have parquet flooring at home, and its cavities work splendidly as a resonator, the sound is incredible.
