Model overview based on user reviews
The Kingston DataTraveler Kyson USB flash drive is praised for its excellent read speed, reaching up to 228 MB/s, making it ideal for quick data transfers. However, its write speed is inconsistent, often dropping to 20-30 MB/s after an initial burst, which is a common issue with TLC memory flash drives. Users appreciate its compact design, but some have noted that the build quality feels flimsy, with a metal casing that's more like a thin foil over plastic. While the 128GB version has been criticized for offering only 115GB of usable space, the drive is generally considered a good value for its price, especially when compared to similar products. Despite some reports of defective units and low-quality assembly, the Kingston DataTraveler Kyson remains a popular choice for those seeking a budget-friendly option with decent performance for everyday use.

A flash drive is just a flash drive; the body is metal, but in thickness, it's closer to foil :) Don't expect it to be indestructible :) As for the claimed speeds, I measured with large files of 6-7GB using an SSD. Write speeds are 33-40MB/s (though the readings jump twice per second). Reading starts at 171MB/s and ends at 150MB/s. Overall, it's better than its counterparts at the same price, like the 64GB SanDisk, which starts writing at 25MB/s, then heats up after 10 seconds and drops to 13-15MB/s. For home use and considering its price, it will do, but of course, it would be nice to see at least 80-85% of the claimed write speed. Performs its functions Not found |
i do not recommend it, I will return it and get my money back. no the box says the flash drive has a capacity of 128 GB, but in reality, it has 115 GB. Where are the other 13 GB? |
The write speed is not 60MB/s. It writes the first approximately 900MB (from a 4GB file) at a speed of 90-115MB/s, while the other part of the file is approximately 30MB/s. Had I known, I wouldn't have bought it. compact low writing speed |
