The model represents LG's SUPER 4K ULTRA HD line. It is made in a nice design with a neat black frame around the glossy screen. The TV is supported by a curved metal stand. On the rear matte surface there are holes for wall fixing the panel using a 300x200 mm VESA mount.
High-quality picture from different viewing angles
LG 65SJ950V received a 65-inch display with IPS-matrix and classic LED backlight. The panel features wide, distortion-free viewing angles, making it a great solution for group viewing. The contrast level and colour uniformity of the model is inferior to the capabilities of OLED TVs, which is clearly manifested in dark scenes, where blacks are more like grays.
A 10-bit wide colour gamut sensor produces a rich picture when playing HDR content. But limited contrast still won't give you the maximum benefit over regular video.
Due to the high frame rate of 120 Hz and PMI technology, the model handles well with the reproduction of dynamic scenes (the corresponding index is up to 3400 fps), providing a smooth video sequence without blur and judder.
Perfect for games
The TV has a slight delay in the output of the image in the "Game" and "PC" modes (up to 17 ms), which makes the model the best choice for fans of games. In terms of input lag, the LG 65SJ950V is one of the best models of 2017, surpassing mainstream OLED counterparts and most Sony and Samsung TVs.
The TV also received a 40-watt audio system with a subwoofer, all popular digital tuners and Smart TV functionality. The multimedia capabilities of the proprietary webOS shell can be expanded by installing various applications and services, connecting external devices to the TV via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or wired interfaces.
LG 65SJ950V, in addition to its gaming orientation, attracts with a large screen size (65 versus 55" for OLED counterparts with a similar price tag). If the size of the panel is a priority, then this model is worth a closer look. But if you want higher picture quality then LG OLED55B7V is the preferred solution.
