OLED-based matrices traditionally exhibit high contrast and ensure maximum black depth. The TV is powered by a high-performance α 8 Gen 2 processor capable of efficiently upscaling images to 4K frame format from lower resolutions.

The panel demonstrates 100% color coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut and supports HLG, HDR10, and Dolby Vision (but not HDR10+). 4K images at a 120 Hz frame rate can be displayed through any HDMI v 2.1 port with additional support for ALLM and VRR. The LG OLED55B5 sound system consists of a pair of full-range 10-watt speakers with Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, and AI algorithms for adapting sound to specific rooms.

The model traditionally features the proprietary smart platform webOS version "25". It is controlled via a "magic" remote control.
