All  specifications
LG GT540 is a low-cost entry-level smartphone running Google Android. It is positioned as the optimal solution for those who have not previously dealt with smartphones, or those who do not want to pay for unnecessary “bells and whistles”.

The device is made in the monoblock form factor, the main material is plastic. The GT540 is one of the most compact Android smartphones in terms of dimensions, it is light, comfortable both in your pocket and when held in your hand. Build quality is very good, no creaks or backlashes.

The main part of the front panel is occupied by a touch screen. Below it are control buttons, the top two (context menu, return back) are made in the form of sensors, the bottom three (receive, hang up, go to the main screen) are mechanical. A separate search key is located unusually — it is placed on the right side of the device, which can cause some inconvenience. There, on the right side, there is a camera control button and a microUSB connector, covered with a plastic cap. On the left side there is a volume rocker, on the upper end there is a standard 3.5 mm jack. The slot for a memory card is placed under the back cover, "hot" replacement is possible.

The GT540 screen is made using TFT technology. For its class, it has very good viewing angles, provides a bright and saturated image, it “blinds” in the sun, but this is a common occurrence in such displays. The screen sensor is a resistive type, it can be controlled both with fingers and with a stylus. However, the latter is not included in the delivery package, and the device itself does not provide a place for its storage / fastening. Also, the device does not support handwriting.

The screen is not equipped with either a light sensor or a proximity sensor, and is automatically blocked when there is an incoming call. Manually turning off the screen (as well as the device itself) is carried out by the end call button.

The hardware of the smartphone is based on a processor with a frequency of 600 MHz and includes 256 MB of RAM. This is enough for fast and stable work even with several programs open in parallel.

LG GT540 is running Android 1.6 with LG's proprietary interface. The software shell is built with the expectation of advanced customization options, facilitation and simplification of working with the phone; it can be disabled to use the original OS.

According to the latest trends, "social" services are widely represented in the software part of the phone. In particular, this is a proprietary SNS Manager application for accessing social networks. Separately, it is worth noting the thorough localization — in the list of social networks, in addition to traditional Facebook and Twitter, there are Odnoklassniki and Vkontakte, the list of applications includes not only Google services (Gmail, search, YouTube), but also Yandex (search, maps, weather, dictionary, etc.). Especially useful in this context is the Wi-Fi module, which greatly facilitates access to the Internet.

Another feature of the phone is convenient synchronization with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange. For this, a special programme is provided that does not require complex settings and makes the process as easy as possible.

Of the applications, it is worth noting the RSS feed reader and the Quickoffice tool for viewing Microsoft Office files.

The multimedia component of the device is notable for the ability to view DivX and Xvid video files without additional conversion. In addition, there is a built-in video editing application.

The LG GT540 has a 3MP camera with autofocus but no flash. Geotags are supported, the face recognition system allows you to integrate pictures with contacts from the phone book. When shooting video (resolution — 640x480), scaling is supported — this is not a full-fledged zoom, you can change the scale only when not recording. Despite 3G support, there is no camera for video calls.

The GPS module is of good quality and speed. By default, Google and Yandex maps are available.

The phone is equipped with a 1500 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, is enough for 4 hours of talk time and 350 hours (about 2 weeks) of standby time. In fact, with an average load, this is enough for one and a half to two days — more than a decent indicator for a modern smartphone. Charging is done via the microUSB port.

The package includes a microUSB-to-USB cable, a charger, a wired stereo headset, a memory card, and a quick start guide.
