Loyal fans of the German brand will surely remember the first speaker of the Transplus MPX101 series with an innovative electric arc tweeter, released in the 80s and making a lot of noise among Hi-Fi fans. Let's see if its modern descendant Transplus 1500 is so good.

Grand retro style

The system impresses with its massive and at the same time concise design. Metre high and half a metre wide, the speakers are made of MDF, finished with dark wood decor and decorated with a vintage metal logo of the company. The front panel is protected by a fabric grill over the entire area. Each cabinet weighs decently, 37 kg, although this is not the limit for such dimensions.

Lots of good sound

The sound in Transpuls 1500 is divided into 3 bands and is formed by four speakers. High to the limit of 35 kHz transmit two tweeters, placed in a rectangular slotted horn, called the "double compression horn" (Double Compressed Horn). The 15-inch woofer is responsible not only for the bass, starting from the border of 16 Hz, but also for the entire lower middle up to the main tones of the vocal range. Against its background, the midrange speaker looks like a baby, although in fact it is also large, 6.5". The low range is reinforced by two front bass reflex ports.

Thanks to this arrangement, the Transpuls 1500 sounds expressive and rhythmic, with excellent micro and macro dynamics, demonstrating genre versatility. In addition , the system has a good margin of sensitivity of 95 dB and a power of 250/500 W.

The only thing that let us down was the accuracy of localization. The scene is voluminous, but it is possible to determine the location of objects in it only approximately. However, let's be fair, at a cost of $ 1300, you should not lament much about this.

Conclusion

Transpuls 1500 could easily be positioned in the premium segment, if it were a little more compact and beautiful, but it turned out as it is and became a popular hit.
