How to choose a gaming keyboardLet's look at the differences between the types of switches and additional equipment for gaming keyboards
Only available with the Microsoft ARC Touch Mouse, not recommended to purchase separately.
21 February 2012
I bought this keyboard to pair with the Microsoft ARC Touch Mouse, and it's suitable only for that purpose since the keyboard's design complements the mouse. If you don't want to buy the Microsoft ARC Touch Mouse, then it's not worth buying this keyboard. It's decent, but not outstanding.
Compact model with excellent key action. Ideal for those who are used to working on laptops, as it mimics laptop keyboards due to its compact format. Comfortable curvature of the keyboard ensures you won't tire even with large volumes of work. The transmitter works flawlessly, with no delays during operation, it runs "like clockwork."
1. Compactness. In my opinion, a full-size keyboard is more convenient to use on a desktop, but as they say, it's all individual.
2. The Delete key is very stiff, maybe there was some intent from the developers that I didn't understand, but all keys are normal and only the Delete key requires extra force, which is inconvenient when touch typing quickly. You have to visually check each time if the key worked or not, but I think one can get used to it.
3. The most inconvenient thing, in my opinion, is the replacement of the cursor keys (arrow keys) with one joystick-like key (as seen in the photo, it's the far right, bottom key). It also works stiffly, and for those who are used to frequently using the cursor keys, they will have unkind words for the Microsoft developers more than once.
4. The glossy finish below the keys (where the Microsoft logo is) constantly gets smudged with fingerprints and needs to be wiped clean frequently.

very disappointed with the purchase, just like with all Microsoft stuff.

i would like the keyboard for communication to have additional features used in laptops (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi). Losing the receiver has turned the keyboard into a useless item at home.
compactness, long battery life,
the absence of full-size joystick keys, too much dependence of the keyboard on the receiver, currently the receiver is lost and therefore the keyboard is not used. the lack of many keys makes it inconvenient to use or requires acquiring skills to work with the keyboard.

From the press release:

Microsoft continues to demonstrate devices that were not known before the start of CES 2010. This time it introduced the new Arc Keyboard, which was named after the Arc Mouse, not only the name, but also the fact that they have common features design.

The keyboard has a curved shape, but a fairly thin base and keys with little travel. The Arc Keyboard operates on the 2.4 GHz channel and the receiver, which must be inserted into the PC, can be hidden in the keyboard while it is being transported.

The battery indicator on the keyboard shows the remaining charge, and in the event of a near discharge, the user can save battery power by turning off the keyboard using the key combination (Fn + Esc). As you can see, even here Microsoft did not add additional controls to make the device as compact as possible.
