PCCooler YK650H is one of the most affordable power supplies supporting the modern ATX 3.1 standard. A common misconception is that it necessarily requires a graphics card cable 12V-2x6. In practice, this connector is optional, and the certificate itself describes the power supply's ability to withstand peak loads. Specifically, brief spikes up to 0.2 milliseconds are allowed at a level up to 200% of the nominal power across the entire PSU and up to 300% on the GPU line.
Low Volume
The power supply's steel case is very compact — only 14 cm in length, which is slightly larger than the dimensions of specialized SFX-L models. The 650W version lacks a PCIe Gen 5.1 cable, but it is available starting from the 750W modifications. The wires are non-modular, yet soft and easy to arrange. Additionally, they are coated with polyurethane styled as nylon braid, making them not only visually appealing but also fire-safe.
Thermo Switch
The manufacturer claims the use of Taiwanese capacitors and a fan with a hydraulic bearing with automatic speed regulation. There is also overheat protection implemented: the power supply automatically shuts off if, for example, air intake is blocked due to heavy dust accumulation. Many other entry-level power supplies lack such OTP protection altogether.
