Great TV, I believe that based on its features, it surpasses the LG C1.
29 December 2021
I recommend purchasing it because the main differences from the 806 model are a different remote control without voice search (which fits the 706 model) and three-sided ambilight instead of four-sided. That's it; ambilight can be extended with additional lamps/strips as desired. I don't see the point in paying extra for the 806 since it's built on the same chassis.
Super picture in UHD, HD, and SD! Very fast Android TV interface, DTS sound, Ambilight lighting that visually increases the diagonal size, especially on content without black bars, plus much more comfortable for the eyes for evening viewing with backlighting, does not strain the eyes. Games with Xbox in HDR and Dolby Vision - just mind-blowing, no delay at all. The TV's sound is very decent for those who don't have external acoustics.
Image banding is present on smooth gradients, I couldn't find where to enable additional processing to mitigate this effect. It appears on well-compressed content; even YouTube HD content is now highly compressed, and these image flaws are immediately noticeable. I'm not very pleased with how the burn-in protection works - for dimming channel logos, it darkens the entire rectangular area with the logo, rather than identifying the contours of the logo itself.

Muck rare OLED! This technology is still insanely raw.
21 June 2023
Absolutely dark image! I bought a 65 inch OLED and immediately regretted it. The picture is insanely dark! You can't see anything at all! I have an average illumination in the room, the Sun does not flood the room much, but nothing is visible at all. TV only in complete darkness can show a more or less normal picture. Watch movies only in filmmaker mode, otherwise everything on the screen becomes cyanotic, like in the movie Avatar. I definitely do not recommend it to anyone unless you watch movies in complete darkness. I have Xbox series X and Playstation 5, but not everything is clear here either. Only in monitor mode is the picture relatively bearable. HDR drastically overswitches the image in movies or games. In general, OLED technology is not yet developed. You need at least 2 times the brightness. A relative also took 65 inches Phillips only 1.5 times more expensive, the new flagship. He is disappointed and also lacks the brightness of the screen. In dark scenes, absolutely nothing is visible. Conclusion: it is impossible to watch movies or play games in complete darkness
Nothing at all
3. The picture is not authentic in any mode, except for filmmaker mode

Everything is at a high level

So I bought myself this wonderful TV. First and subsequent impressions are extremely positive. I still can’t believe that I now have such a cool TV. In this model, absolutely everything is implemented at a high level - design, image, sound, interface. At the same time, the TV starts and generally works quickly.

The highlight of many Philips TVs is the proprietary Ambilight backlighting system, which projects atmospheric light onto the wall behind the TV panel. There is one in the 55OLED706 model.

OLED backlit panel

Three-sided backlighting provides a deeper immersion of the audience into what is happening and creates the effect of the image going beyond the screen. The model is assigned a 10-bit OLED-matrix, which is a huge array of self-luminous pixels with a resolution of 3840x2160 pixels, as a display. The Philips 55OLED706 produces perfect blacks and boasts an almost infinite contrast ratio.

Smoothness - above all!

Of course, the TV supports common high dynamic range formats (including Dolby Vision), along with which the TV panel has a high refresh rate of 120 Hz. You can taste all the delights of increased “hertz” when you connect a game console to your TV via an HDMI 2.1 interface connector. The model automatically detects the attachment and enters the low latency mode (ALLM).

Optimal balance of performance

The TV's built-in audio system consists of two 10W tweeters and a 30W subwoofer. Together, the speakers provide really high-quality sound. We also add here the intuitive interface of the Android TV 10 system with support for voice control - as a result, we have an optimally balanced TV panel of a confident medium link.
