The Ryobi R18 JS7-0 is the "top" model in the Ryobi jigsaw range. It is equipped with a modern brushless motor, which has many advantages over traditional motor designs. First of all, we are talking about increased power and more economical battery consumption. Thanks to the brushless motor Ryobi R18 JS7-0, despite the battery power, the sawing speed and performance is not inferior to powerful corded jigsaws. The file can move at a very high speed - up to 3500 strokes / min. This frequency of strokes of the toothed blade allows you to make very accurate cuts without chipping on the edges of chipboard or other materials with decorative coatings that are prone to flaking when carelessly processed. And when the quality of the edges does not matter, then you can turn on the pendulum pumping - a mechanism that ensures the maximum speed of sawing wood. It has three working positions and one neutral (when sawing metal, the pendulum is completely turned off). Due to its power, speed and flexible settings, the jigsaw does an excellent job with different materials. It can make very deep cuts in wood - up to 135 mm, as well as cut plastic, aluminium (up to 20 mm) and steel (up to 10 mm).

Ergonomics and adjustment

In terms of ergonomics, the Ryobi R18 JS7-0 is doing very well. The design of the tool allows you to change equipment and make settings on the fly. Thanks to the quick-release chuck, saw blades can be changed in no time. Keys are also not needed to adjust the angle of the sole. It is enough just to flip the lever, turn the strong cast base to the angle that is necessary for making a bevel cut, and return the lever to its place. Adjustment of the frequency of strokes is carried out using the wheel. The saw starts smoothly at any speed and stops instantly when the button is released. The start key can be fixed in the pressed position - very convenient when you need to rearrange your hand when making long cuts. An LED backlight with an afterglow function is responsible for illuminating the work area. But there are problems with dust removal. Due to the fact that there is no transparent plastic shield in front that covers the saw unit, the vacuum cleaner connected to the jigsaw does not do its job well.

Looking for balance

This jigsaw is sold complete with a nail file for sawing wood, a nozzle for connecting a vacuum cleaner and a removable plastic sole (a compartment for storing saw accessories is built into it). There is no battery or charger. Users who have already managed to buy the Ryobi R18 JS7-0 and try it out, note that the jigsaw performs best with batteries with a capacity of 3 - 5 Ah. But it should be borne in mind that the tool, which already does not have a small dry weight (1.82 kg), still recovers a little when the battery is installed (with the smallest of all possible 1.3 Ah batteries, it weighs 2.23 kg, with the largest 9 Ah battery - 3.0 kg ).
