Tool for fast and aggressive sawing
The Ryobi R18 JS-0 jigsaw has a very distinct pendulum operation: in the first position of the travel adjustment lever, the file barely oscillates (it is so convenient to cut, for example, aluminium), and in the last position, the blade aggressively bites into the tree, allowing you to cut soft materials very quickly while making sufficiently deep cuts (up to 101 mm). The speed of the saw blade up and down is also adjustable. Due to the fact that adjustments are made using the wheel, the selected frequency can be fixed (for many other jigsaws, the speed depends on how hard you press the start key, which is not so convenient). However at speeds close to the minimum (that is, in the region of 1100 strokes / min), the tool works uncertainly. Therefore, it is better to keep the speed higher.
Details and nuances
The tool is equally comfortable when working with or without gloves. All buttons, levers and switches are located in such a way that they can be reached with your thumb without removing your palm from the handle. There is a backlight that illuminates the cutting line. But the removal of sawdust is not provided, so you will have to inflate your cheeks and blow off the chips yourself. On the other hand, this may even seem like an advantage to some, because sawdust does not scatter throughout the room and you do not need to protect your eyes from them.
There is an interesting nuance in the design of the quick-clamping mechanism assembly: it is designed for files with U-shaped shank. They are not scarce, rare, or expensive, but they are not as common on the market as T-shaped ones.
