The flagship video card from AMD in 2023, based on the new RDNA 3 microarchitecture and built on a 5-nanometer process technology. Has 20 GB of GDDR6 memory with an effective frequency of 20 GHz and a 320-bit memory bus. Unlike previous generations of Radeon graphics cards, it uses the RDNA3 microarchitecture, which provides significantly higher performance and efficiency. The version from Sapphire traditionally has a modified cooling system with a triple fan, which provides lower noise levels and adequate temperatures under load.
Part of the Pulse enthusiast product line, it is positioned as a premium product focused on 4K high-definition gaming. Ready to provide smooth and high frame rates in the most demanding games of recent times including Cyberpunk 2077, A Plague Tale: Requiem and Baldur’s Gate 3, delivering stable 60+ FPS in 2K resolution and maximum graphics without using supersampling technologies.
Supports ray tracing and FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling technologies. The former is used to create realistic reflection, refraction, and shadow effects that cannot be created using traditional rendering methods. The second uses various algorithms to increase image resolution, which allows you to get a higher frame rate without having to lower the graphics settings.
It is also suitable for those looking for an affordable graphics card with good performance and low noise. However, due to its large size, this video card may not be suitable for some cases - its length is 331 mm, its weight is around 1.5 kg, and the card itself takes up just under three slots on the motherboard. Although, against the backdrop of the huge 2.5-kilogram variations of the GeForce RTX 4090, this is mere nonsense. Its high power also makes it suitable for users who work with professional video editors, 3D modelers, and graphic design and animation applications.

Revolutionary RDNA 3 architecture from Radeon
In response to the launch of high-performance and expensive NVIDIA 4000 series video cards, Radeon engineers delved into development and a year later presented the world with their innovative solution - the RX 7900 XT/XTX video cards. Our test included the RX 7900 XT model. This line differs from the previous generation Radeon by using a new GPU chiplet architecture, which has reduced production complexity, increased energy efficiency and, as a result, reduced the retail cost of devices. The Infinity Cache's volume has been adjusted downwards, but thanks to improvements and increased bus width, its performance has doubled.
Direct competition with GeForce RTX 4080
The main rival of the RX 7900 XT on the market is the GeForce RTX 4080 from NVIDIA. Both models support advanced technologies such as ray tracing and AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), which is an alternative to NVIDIA's DLSS supersampling technology. FSR is available free of charge and is compatible with a wide range of graphics cards, unlike DLSS 3.0, which offers additional frame generation functionality but is only available on GeForce 4000 series graphics cards. The Radeon does have ray tracing capabilities, but their effectiveness is still inferior to competitors, although there are differences in performance may be game specific, leaving hope for future improvements at the software level.
Attractive power/price ratio
Focusing on core performance without taking into account additional technologies, one can only applaud AMD's efforts. In games like Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and The Witcher 3 Remaster, AMD's new product performs comparable or even better than the RTX 4080, sometimes beating it by several frames per second. In other titles, for example, in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4 and RDR2, the RTX 4080 comes out a little ahead. At the same time, the cost of the “green” card is much higher, despite the fact that its memory capacity is 16 GB versus 20 GB for “ red." As a result, the choice between the additional cost of DLSS 3.0 and high-quality ray tracing remains with the user.
