The `slider` form factor for Sony Ericsson phones is an unusual solution. Of course, such phones were produced before, their introduction was more or less successful, but they never gained much popularity. Surely things will go better with the W910i model from the `musical` series `Walkman`. The phone looks dignified, and functionally it can compete both with related models from its own line, as well as with competitors' phones.

Technical features:

• The body of the W910i is made of plastic with metal inserts. The plastic is matte, and therefore not particularly susceptible to pollution. Anyway, fingerprints on it are usually imperceptible (unless, of course, you have not eaten fatty foods with your hands before). The back panel is made of the now popular Soft Touch plastic.
• Several body colour options are available. Of course, the manufacturers came up with vaguely romantic code names for them: red (Hearty Red), black (Noble Black) and golden, more precisely, golden brown (the so-called Havana Bronze). Later, it is possible that other colours will appear.
• The body of the slider opens easily and neatly - there is a quite decent auto-finishing mechanism. Even over time, the mechanical component of the phone works without backlash and defects. Previously, the operation of the mechanism caused abrasions of the case, but now this defect has been completely eliminated by manufacturers.
• The display of the Sony Ericsson W910i is perhaps even better than in some models of the Cyber-shot series, where the presence of a camera requires a full-fledged screen. Although the phone belongs to the Walkman music series, its display diagonal is as much as 2.4". Although the screen can not be called the best in its class, it works quite well in the sun. `Strong rear` provides a mirror substrate, as you know, indispensable when working in the sun. Displays up to 262K colours. In general, the brightness of the backlight is determined automatically - there is an ambient light sensor on the side of the display.
• If the phone didn't have a memory card slot, W910i buyers would be disheartened. User-accessible memory is only 40 megabytes. In fact, it would be enough for several songs. Luckily, there is a slot for Sony's own Memory Stick Micro (M2) cards. The kit comes with a 1 GB card, in general, you can use a `nominal` up to 4 GB. And this is quite enough to solve any problems.
• Work is supported on GSM frequencies 850/900/1800/1900. If this is not enough and you want something more modern, you can join a 3G network with support for high-speed data transfer and video telephony. The phone already has a camera for this, although the existing 3G network is still lacking.
• Pleases the contact book. `Book` is really a book. It can store data about 5000 subscribers. Each subscriber can be assigned up to 7 numbers - mobile, home, work, fax, etc., as well as an e-mail address, postal address, WWW address and much, much more. The date of birth assigned to the user can be synchronized with the organizer - thus, remembering the birthday of your beloved grandmother will not be any problem.
• Sony Ericsson W910i, like some modern models of the same series, is equipped with a motion sensor. In addition, the so-called `shake control` is used - by clicking on the case and shaking the phone, you can control the functions of the FM receiver and player of the model. The system is sensitive enough and you should not click and shake too hard - it will work anyway.
• There is an FM-receiver with a memory for 20 stations. Stations can be entered both manually and automatically. The TrackID function is convenient. It allows you to determine the name and artist of almost any song through the manufacturer's server - both from the radio and from the media player.
• All kinds of music files are supported (which is quite common for a Walkman phone) - AAC, AMR, MPEG Layer 3, Real 8, AWB, WAV, MP4, MIDI, iMelody, 3GPP, XMF, M4A, RHZ, WMA, as well as video - MPG4, 3GPP, SDP, Real8, WMV. In addition, you can view and edit drawings in the PhotoDJ application - JPEG, GIF87, GIF89A, PNG, SVG, WBMP, BMP.

Camera:

• There are two cameras in the Sony Ericsson W910i - one is average and the other is weak. The first, at 2 megapixels, is actually used for shooting - photos and videos. There is no autofocus, mirror and flash - this is a real musical Walkman, not some `photographic` Cyber-Shot.
• The maximum resolution is 1600x1200, the minimum is VGA (i.e. 640x480). Supports night mode, several modes of normal shooting, including panoramic. White balance modes, image quality are also set, you can set the time and date on the photo.
• Video recording resolution - QCIF (176x144). Almost all effects used in photo mode can be applied during recording.
• The second camera on the front panel supports modest resolutions - QCIF (176x144) and SQCIF (128x96). However, it is installed specifically for video calls and you should not expect more from it. You can adjust the brightness, set the `night` mode, use the `white balance` in the `Auto` mode.
