The third version of the SpaceX Starlink hardware-software system includes a compact phased-array satellite antenna for communication with the Starlink orbital satellite constellation and a branded dual-band SpaceX Starlink Wi-Fi router supporting Starlink Mesh network and network power supply. This kit is capable of creating a high-speed satellite Internet connection with speeds up to 200 Mbps.
Unlike other forms of network access via geostationary satellite arrangements, SpaceX Starlink works with low-earth orbit Starlink satellites, ensuring low latency (20-50 ms), which is crucial for direct client device control, videoconferencing, and gaming. Compared to the similar complex of the second version, it features a larger surface area and an expanded antenna field of view, allowing for more effective satellite tracking and providing a more stable connection.
The SpaceX Starlink V3 Rev4 router supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard and can operate simultaneously in three bands, ensuring high data transfer speeds and improved performance in busy networks. It is also notable for its increased coverage area (up to 297 m² instead of 185 m²) and support for a greater number of devices. Thanks to 4x4 MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies, the V3 router can handle 235 devices, exceeding the capabilities of version V2, which supported up to 128 devices.
