Contrast and bright picture

One of the flagship 65-inch TVs in the TCL line received a QLED matrix and Mini LED backlighting with an abundance of local dimming zones. The image here is characterized by a high level of contrast, as a result, the black color is displayed as realistic as possible, which is especially important when viewing movies in rooms with subdued light.

Also, the TCL 65C825 TV is characterized by excellent color gamut and decent peak brightness (500 cd / m²). With multi-format HDR support (Dolby Vision and HDR10+), the content in question should look very convincing and outperform conventional SDR content.

Android TV

The model is running Android TV. In addition to the traditional advantages of the shell, including an abundance of applications and games, Chromecast support is implemented here for convenient transfer of content from a smartphone and the Google Assistant Hands Free function: you can interact with the voice assistant even without a remote control - the microphone is built into the TV itself.

A distinctive feature is the built-in Magic Camera, which allows you to work without additional devices in video communication applications, including Google Duo.

Cool acoustics and game "stuffing"

Good sound quality is provided by the built-in 60-watt Onkyo soundbar with a pair of speakers and a subwoofer, as well as support for Dolby Atmos and DTS.

The gaming potential of the TV is revealed by a 120-Hz matrix with a minimum response time (7 ms) and an HDMI 2.1 interface that is in demand among gamers. It features increased bandwidth (48 Gbps), which means it “can” transfer 4K HDR content at 120 fps, plus it supports features that are in demand for games, including ALLM (auto-transition to game mode) and VRR (variable refresh rate, eliminating tearing and jitter).

Among the shortcomings of the model, there is not an ideal factory calibration (easily eliminated by user settings) and not impressive viewing angles. Otherwise, TCL 65C825 is a worthy competitor to TOP brand TVs with a rather attractive price tag.
