Beamforming and MU-MIMO support. "Space" design.

An affordable and high-speed wireless router (router) of the AC1200 class with full support for the Wi-Fi 5 standard and a gigabit port for incoming connection to the provider's network. Equipped with four 5dBi external antennas for superior coverage on two bands. Supports multi-stream data transmission technology and Beamforming function, which provides directional signal transmission to specific client devices.

It is positioned as a product of the middle price category, designed to create a high-speed Wi-Fi infrastructure in a 1/2/3-room apartment, a detached house or a small office (up to three stationary PCs). In addition to the functions of a router, the Tenda AC10 wireless router can play the role of a repeater, bridge and LAN switch. Thanks to a powerful processor and support for 2x2 MU-MIMO technology, the theoretical data transfer rate can reach 300 Mbps (in the 2.4 GHz band) and 867 Mbps when using a 5 GHz carrier frequency. The actual throughput usually does not exceed 120/400 Mbps and it is enough for any home, office or gaming tasks (including viewing UltraHD/4K resolution IPTV broadcasts, web and cloud services, IP telephony , video conferencing). All necessary security protocols, parental control functions and traffic encryption are supported.

Video reviews

Tenda's Wi-Fi equipment is often a good value for money. The best confirmation of this in practice is an inexpensive AC10 gigabit router for home or small office.

Futuristic design

The highlight of the model in appearance is the futuristic design of the case in the "space" style. The router looks like a kind of spaceship, it is made more mundane by four external antennas with a gain of 5 dBi, which are designed to create an extensive and high-quality coverage in two bands. The manufacturer claims a Wi-Fi network speed of 867 Mbps at 5 GHz and up to 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz. The real bandwidth of the router is one and a half to two times less. However, this is quite enough for comfortable viewing of streaming video, pastime in games and surfing the Internet.

Connection interfaces

The Tenda AC10 interface shelf has three gigabit LAN ports and one gigabit WAN connector. The maximum speed from the router can be squeezed out when connecting client devices via twisted pair. At the same time, the model is able to play the role of a repeater, a bridge, or a LAN switch. In the device settings, the device-specific speed limiting functions are available, there is a MAC address filter, DDNS, UPnP, VPN, and parental control.

Hi-tech

The model supports Beamforming technology, which allows you to focus the signal in the direction of a specific client device, it also claims to support MU-MIMO - simultaneous data transfer to several connected devices. The only complaint about the router is the audible high-frequency squeak from the power supply. However, if you do not put the router on the bedside table, it will not disturb anyone.
