Super AMOLED display
The vivo V17 Neo model is a newcomer to our market, and also belongs to the class of inexpensive devices (under $300), so you should not initially expect any radical innovations from it, like two displays or a confused sliding design. But on the other hand, this smartphone demonstrates unprecedented equipment for a price of $ 300: here you have an unusual Super AMOLED display for this price, a fast fingerprint scanner under the screen, a decent triple camera with artificial intelligence, and NFC, and the battery is already 4500 mAh with support for fast charging.
Non-trivial design
At the same time, the design of the smartphone also came out very unusual. Vivo V17 Neo is available in two colours, which can be called black and blue. Conditionally because both are coloured inhomogeneously: the gradient geometric pattern gently shimmers from delicate blue to deep purple, reminiscent of the twinkling of the night starry sky. It seems that uniform black and white cases are gradually becoming a thing of the past even among low-cost smartphones, which is good news. Despite the fact that the smartphone looks impressive, its price can be almost unmistakably judged by the materials of the case. And here is solid plastic, which looks great in a new smartphone, but after six months of use it will be rubbed harder than glass.
6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage
In terms of hardware, Vivo V17 Neo looks ambiguous. On the one hand, it has a MediaTek Helio P65 processor, which in itself is far from top-end, and does not look as interesting as a competitor in the face of Snapdragon. On the other hand, there is an internal storage of 128 GB plus 6 GB of RAM, which a year ago was the prerogative of top smartphones. In general, the performance is enough for the smooth operation of the graphical interface, and for most any application in multitasking mode.
Unlock in a split second
Separately, it is worth noting the fingerprint scanner built into the screen. Vivo is one of the leaders in the V17 Neo, we have a fast and accurate (though not flawless) scanner, which would be more common to see in a smartphone 2 times more expensive. It works in a fraction of a second, but occasionally still sins with false positives.
Artificial intelligence
Of the unusual, we note a separate shortcut button for the Google Assistant and Jovi voice assistants, a pumped-up image recognition function for online shopping, the Voice on Wakeup wake-up feature and artificial intelligence, which was great for improving and adjusting selfies. Against the background of all these pluses, the outdated microUSB instead of USB-C and in some places the localization curve slightly spoil the impression. Although, the smartphone seems to have been created with an eye on the CIS market.
