the system has never crashed on it, I'm very satisfied. Before this, I had a Hitachi drive — it overheated a lot, so I tossed it without regret. I've tried many manufacturers, but when it comes to hard drives, WD is the best. Very fast and reliable - in use for 1 year already for the first two weeks, there's a hum, then it works quietly. after installation, I formatted it, installed specialized music programs for editing and processing sound, as well as a bunch of virtual synthesizers, guitar and drum processors. When using these programs, the drive performs excellently, doesn't make excessive noise, doesn't freeze, and has decent performance, naturally along with a sound card. For me, this is a certain test since the original drive died very quickly and struggled when working with such programs (like Pro Tools). Well, the capacity also allows for archiving; at least for now, I don't have to worry about finding some free space. good capacity, low price, can be used with both desktop computers and media players, doesn't make noise, withstands temperature extremes haven't found yet Lis: use WD Caviar Black month or more |
Got one for myself, been using it for three days, there's cracking and noise sometimes when copying, as someone wrote before, maybe it'll go away in a few weeks... I'll hope for that. Should have gotten two 750 GB ones, because if this one crashes, then that's it... but at least some data would remain, or have to bother with backup on discs if it's photos or home video. It's decent for torrents, has good specs, excellent for storing and working with large files like Photoshop source files of 200-400 MB, 3D modeling... a great option...!!! By the way, the Green series is more energy efficient, but slower, while the Black series consumes 5-6 watts more, although overall those 5-6 watts... choose wisely! 1.5 TB for that price - impressive!
