Ten
The jubilee tenth generation of flagships from Xiaomi appeared not without surprises. The company, which has made a name for itself not by releasing inexpensive but high-quality equipment, suddenly surprised me with a price tag in the spirit of Apple or Samsung - if in China Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro can be bought for $787, then in our reality, sellers are asking for around $1000. Therefore, it must be evaluated without any discounts.
Xiaomi in premium mode
Let's start with the good. The price change allowed the company not to save on subtle, but important little things like a conversational speaker. Usually, in the reviews, such things passed by the radar, but the real owners were very annoyed. First, the smartphone, with its bezel-less display and thin front-facing cutout, now looks like its worth. The same Mi 9 and Mi 9T looked exactly like any other $200 smartphone. The display by the standards of the company turned out to be unusually large: 6.67". Super AMOLED matrix has a resolution of Full HD +, supports HDR10 + and a fashionable refresh rate of 90 Hz. The quality of the matrix is excellent without any reservations, almost at the level of displays in Samsung flagships. But the screen gives out honest 90 Hz in games, and does not reset them to 60 Hz, like the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
Snapdragon 865
The Mi 10 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Top-end hardware, pulls everything, but sometimes suffers from throttling. It seems that Xiaomi knew about this, so they released a separate cooler for the smartphone. After the release of the Mi Note 10, Xiaomi unexpectedly made it to the top of the DxoMark camera phones, and the Mi 10 Pro consolidated this success, earning 124 points. This is the fourth place in the ranking. However, the camera turned out to be imperfect: on the one hand, the ultra-wide lens works at 11 out of 10, on the other hand, the quality of the hybrid zoom and night shooting is inferior to the flagships from Huawei and Samsung.
Wi-Fi 6 and fast 50-watt charging
Among other goodies, we highlight a fairly fast in-screen fingerprint scanner, a Wi-Fi 6 module and a powerful 50-watt charger (plus there is a wireless reverse one). You can recharge your smartphone by 90% in 40 minutes! Unfortunately, there were some minor bugs. We won’t scold Xiaomi for a sawn audio jack, other top-end smartphones don’t have it either. But full-fledged water protection would not be superfluous. Especially since competitors have it. A memory card slot wouldn't hurt either. The smartphone can shoot video in 8K (don't ask why), and in this mode, free memory will melt like a popsicle in the July sun. Well, the front camera is not the most impressive in comparison with competitors.
