An almost complete copy of the "purebred" Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with slightly reduced camera characteristics. So, instead of a monstrous 108 MP module as the leading one, the “light” version of the smartphone takes pictures of a 64 MP image sensor. Next to it on the back of the case are 8 MP ultra-wide, 8 MP telephoto and 2 MP auxiliary depth-of-field sensor (which will come in handy in the portrait photography genre). Also, the resolution of the selfie camera was “cut in half” – henceforth it is 16-megapixel. The front camera lens lives in a teardrop-shaped cutout of the upper segment of the display on a 6.47-inch diagonal AMOLED-matrix substrate. Curved side edges give the screen a special charm. The gaming ambitions of the gadget are revealed by the “iron” combination of the eight-core Snap...dragon 730G chipset and 8/128 GB of memory. Unfortunately, the smartphone does not provide a slot for a microSD card to expand the capacity of a regular drive. At the top end of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite 128GB / 8GB, an infrared port has found a haven, an NFC is hidden inside the case, and the energy reserves in the gadget’s battery are replenished through a symmetrical USB-C port. ) "from zero to hundreds" with a 30-watt block, it takes only 65 minutes. "pure" time.

Grandson of the flagship

In November 2019, Xiaomi introduced an interesting almost-flagship Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with a top-end quad camera, which topped the DxOMark rating, beating numerous competitors such as Samsung, Huawei and Apple. It worked on the mid-level Snapdragon 730G chipset and it was decidedly unusual. In the spring of 2020, Xiaomi again surprised everyone by releasing a light version of the Mi Note 10 with identical hardware, a simpler camera and a $100 lower price tag. Again, this is a strange decision that goes against traditional marketing principles.

Block with 4 cameras instead of 5

The end result was not quite “top for your money” like last time. The most important charm of a camera with 5 modules has disappeared. Instead, the Note 10 Lite received a block of 4 modules, where the main role is played by the already familiar 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 mid-level sensor, and it is complemented by a 12-megapixel wide sensor, a macro lens and an auxiliary depth sensor. As a result, the shooting quality of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite has become much more modest, autofocus performance has deteriorated and the quality of night photos has decreased. The company's logic is that there is no point in overpaying for a powerful camera if you don't need it. But isn’t the main highlight of the smartphone lost without it?

AMOLED matrix with Full HD+ resolution and HDR support

The display characteristics are similar to the older model: the same 6.47 inches, the same AMOLED matrix with Full HD+ resolution and HDR support. At one time, we remembered it for its good color reproduction, slightly acidic factory settings and a good brightness reserve. The edges of the display are rounded, which makes it similar to flagships; they haven’t forgotten about the oleophobic coating. The fingerprint scanner remains under the screen and in terms of response speed it is still inferior to conventional sensors on the rear panel.

Almost identical copy of Mi Note 10

In terms of other parameters, we received an almost identical copy of the Mi Note 10 in a similar case and with the same hardware. Its heart is the same Snapdragon 730G gaming processor, the same Adreno 618 graphics and the same 8 GB of LPDDR4x memory. The proprietary autonomy has also been preserved: the 5260 mAh battery lasts for 7 – 8 hours in demanding toys like The Elder Scrolls Blades, then fast 30-watt charging comes into play. The only additional features that stand out are NFC and the traditional Xiaomi infrared port. The conclusion from all that has been said is this: this is a good device without flaws for those who value autonomy and performance in games, but who need the camera more for Instagram. And mobile photography enthusiasts will prefer the regular Mi Note 10.
