Top 2021 high-performance gaming wireless router with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11n/ac/ax), high-speed USB 3.2 Gen1 port and 160MHz bandwidth. In addition to the regular network (2.4GHz), creates two 5.2/5.8GHz networks, with the second dedicated to gaming traffic. Able to provide ultra-fast data transfer (AX9000 class) and ultra-low latency for comfortable gaming in any modern game projects and eSports disciplines.
Distinguished by its original exterior design, it is positioned as a premium product designed to create high-speed wireless and cable networks with low latency in apartments, private homes or small offices. You can use the 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet WAN/LAN port to create an inbound connection to the provider's network. The USB 3.2 port is designed to connect an external drive, which allows you to implement the function of a file and media server. Powered by a powerful hardware platform with a Qualcomm IPQ8072A quad-core processor, the Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000 delivers incredibly high theoretical throughput. However, in practice, it is possible to get closer to speeds of this order only when using client devices that support 4x4 MU-MIMO mode, 160 MHz wide channels, OFDMA frequency division and 1024-QAM modulation.

Three-channel router from Xiaomi
Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000 is a flagship three-channel gaming router with Wi-Fi 6 support, a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port, four Gigabit LAN ports and extremely powerful hardware that is more than ready for next-generation wireless networks. The device's performance is driven by a powerful quad-core Qualcomm IPQ8072 processor, which contains four ARM Cortex-A53 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.2 GHz, as well as an additional dual-core NPU unit with a frequency of 1.7 GHz. The secondary processor allows the router to process data packets more quickly and responsively, optimize QoS traffic separation, and scan network traffic for potential security threats. It’s not surprising that to cool this stuff we had to build a fairly large cooler into the base.
Dedicated channel for games
As for speed indicators, the new creation of Xiaomi belongs to the AX9000 class, providing a total throughput of 9000 Mbit/s in all three bands. Most of it (approx: 7206 Mbit/s) is given over to the 5 Hz band, and the traffic in this case is divided into 2 different channels, one of which is dedicated specifically to games. We can say that this is the main feature of the Xiaomi Mi Router AX9000. The remaining 1148 Mbit/s is reserved for the 2.4 GHz band. As befits a top-end gaming router with Wi-Fi 6, it supports MU-MIMO, Beamforming and OFDMA and easily handles up to 16 simultaneously connected devices. Plus, support for Mesh networks is announced.
Futuristic design and RGB lighting
Xiaomi places special emphasis on connectivity and communication range: through the use of a large number of long-range antennas (4 control modules, 12 conventional antennas + one AloT), the router can provide high speed at a distance of up to 12 meters through any walls or obstacles in the house. In addition, the router is equipped with a USB 3.2 gen1 port for external connections (SSD drive, LTE modem, printer, etc.) Well, you can’t ignore the futuristic design of a spider combat drone from some science fiction movie or TV series. On the back of the “spider” there is a neat X-shaped RGB backlight in the form of a cross, which can reproduce up to 16 million shades. The only, but significant, disadvantage against the background of all that has been said is that the firmware is far from the most advanced for this class with limited tools for setting up the network.
