Zubr ZPL-305

A machine with a reasonable price and decent performance

Thanks to the 750-watt motor, the Zubr ZPL-305 band saw does not slow down during operation and does not jam in dense and viscous wood, even if a decent load is given. The motor, by the way, is asynchronous (that is, it does not require maintenance during operation). The machine is capable of sawing workpieces up to 170 mm high and up to 305 mm wide. The minimum sawing radius is 35 mm (steeper curves are difficult to “write out” due to the 12.7 mm wide tape). Two speeds allow you to adapt to the characteristics of the processed material.

Simple, time-tested design

The design of the machine is quite simple, without any frills. The table is cast, with a flat surface in which T-shaped grooves are made. In the grooves, a longitudinal guide and an angular stop are attached, which are necessary for accurate serial cutting of lumber to size. Saw blade tension adjustment is made in the form of a screw, which is easy and convenient to access. A vacuum cleaner can be connected to the saw to remove chips and dust during operation.

Of the interesting features, one cannot fail to note the built-in brushes on the pulleys. They clean the pulleys from sticking chips when sawing resinous wood. But the scale of the tilt of the table is not happy. It is poorly made and difficult to set up.

A good saw is not for all the money in the world

Saw "Zubr" ZPL-305 belongs to the "Master" series. It differs from the usual Zubr tool in the use of higher quality parts and components and, therefore, increased reliability. Therefore, this band saw can be safely recommended to woodworking specialists and amateur craftsmen who want to buy a good band saw not for all the money in the world (at least it costs half as much as Makita and Metabo with similar characteristics) .
