Die cutting (cutting). The cutting equipment of this type of scissors consists of a fixed matrix and a punch (punch) that performs reciprocating movements. The shape of the punch is round or square (for cutting thin sheet metal up to 3 mm and thick workpieces, respectively). The cutting part of the electric scissors provides ease of making curved cuts due to the stepless rotation of the cutting direction in the sheet. Punching tools allow you to start cutting both from the edge and from the middle of the workpiece.

Leafy. According to the principle of operation, sheet models most of all resemble ordinary scissors. The material to be cut is placed between two knives, one of which is movable and the other is static. When transmitting torque from an electric motor, the movable cutting element performs reciprocating movements in a perpendicular plane, providing decent cutting accuracy along a straight path and with some types of shaped cutting. Sheet metal shears can only start from the edge of the sheet.

- Disk. These shears have a circular or polygonal circular cutter that rotates and passes through a fixed lower blade. The material is separated as the disc passes through the cutting edges of the lower knife and the rotating upper cutter. Such power tools are suitable for cutting elastic materials: PVC film, elastomers, fabrics, paper and cardboard.
- Bolt cutters. Cordless tools for cutting steel rods without damaging the threads on them. Bolt cutters quickly cut through studs without leaving a burr on the cut. The number of complete cycles of movement of the cutting blade in 1 minute. The parameter is indicated at idle run of the tool, i.e. without load.
The number of cuts determines the time of operations and the quality of the result. Scissors with a high speed of cutting equipment provide a clean and even cut.
Cutting speed
The indicator describes the performance of cutting with electric shears. It is expressed in meters per unit of time (usually 1 minute). This is the cutting distance that the scissors are able to overcome in the nominal mode of operation.
Min. turning radius
The turning radius determines the manoeuvrability of the tool - the ability to perform curved cutting along a pre-conceived trajectory. The radius is measured in millimeters. The smaller its value, the more complex curly cuts are made with scissors. Note that punching models are the most manoeuvrable, the rest of the tool categories are designed for cutting in a straight line or along a curve with a smooth departure to the side.
Starting hole size
The diameter of the hole in millimeters, which must be done in advance to start cutting with scissors from the middle of the workpiece. The parameter is found mainly among models of the die-cut (cut-out) type.

Blocking of inclusion. The ability to lock the power button in the pressed position. This function is very convenient in situations where the tool has to be used for a long time without interruption in work: it is easier to fix the start button in the on position than to keep it pressed all the time, additionally straining the finger on the working hand. The lock is turned off, as a rule, in the simplest way - for example, by briefly pressing the same start button.

Brushless motor. The brushless design motor in electric scissors is considered to be more advanced than traditional brushed motors. Such units are more economical in terms of energy consumption, they are less noisy and do not spark, which is important when using the tool in conditions of increased fire hazard.

Swivel head. The presence of a swivel head in the design of the scissors allows you to change the position of the tool in relation to the workpiece for greater ease of cutting. This may be required for cutting already installed sheets of material in hard to reach places.

Backlight. Built-in lantern to illuminate the work area. Note that the backlight is useful not only at dusk or darkness, but also in normal lighting - it will come in handy when working in shaded areas.

- Charger. Battery charger as standard with cordless scissors. In itself, its presence eliminates the need to look for and buy a "charger" separately. At the same time, the charger is optimally suited to the "native" battery and can be compatible with other suitable batteries of the corresponding platform.

Protective plate. Shield plate to protect the master's hands from chips. It is often installed parallel to the straight body of the sheet metal shears near the cutting tool.

Replaceable blade. A replaceable blade is included in the tool delivery set, which implies the possibility of replacing the executive body with a spare or another one in size to change the thickness of the cut or work with materials of different density.

Additional handle. Additional handle in the design or delivery set of the tool (it can be either built-in or removable). This attachment makes it easier to hold the scissors with two hands, which is important when cutting hard materials that require significant force, or in delicate work, where precision and maximum control are important.

Bracket (clip). Special clip for attaching the tool to a belt, clothing, rope or even a pipe. The bracket provides additional convenience when working in hard-to-reach places and at heights - the operator will always have the scissors at
...hand, and during the pause, the tool can not be placed on the floor.
- Case (bag). Case-case or soft bag for storing and carrying the tool together with the included accessories. Such products are much more convenient than improvised packaging, since they were originally designed for the design features of a particular model of electric scissors.
