Performance

The nominal processing time for 1 m² of glass helps assess the operating speed of a window-cleaning robot: the lower the value in min/m², the faster the pass. For example, at 2.5 min/m², a surface measuring 4 m² will require about 10 minutes, excluding a repeat cycle, repositioning the device, and preparing the cleaning cloths. Models are best compared in identical modes, since the result is affected by the route, degree of contamination, and number of passes.

Power

The electrical power consumption reflects the load on the motor, suction fan, drives, and electronics, but does not directly measure cleaning quality. It is more appropriate to compare this figure within the same type of equipment: a more powerful device may provide greater operating capacity, but streaks and residual water are influenced more strongly by the nozzle design, the condition of the cleaning pads, and the movement algorithm. For corded models, this value also helps assess the requirements for the adapter or external power source.

Suction power

Suction power determines how reliably the window-cleaning robot adheres to the glass. A higher value helps maintain grip when moving over joints, minor irregularities, or areas where the cleaning pad does not fit tightly. However, stronger suction does not guarantee better removal of stains and streaks—the result also depends on the cleaning pads, liquid dispensing, and route. Regardless of the stated pressure, the robot should be secured with a safety tether.

Backup power

The backup power system uses a built-in battery to keep the window-cleaning robot attached to the glass in an emergency after the mains power goes out. It does not allow full cleaning to continue, but keeps the device attached to the glass and gives you time to remove it in the event of a sudden power outage or accidental cable disconnection. The specified time indicates how many minutes the system can maintain the robot’s adhesion to the glass without mains power.

Noise level

The noise level indicates how loud the window cleaner operates: the lower the value, the more comfortable the device is to use indoors. Models quieter than 60 dB are comparable in volume to a calm conversation, the 60 – 65 dB range is already clearly audible, and devices above 65 dB may interfere with work or rest nearby. A robot remains audible throughout the entire cycle, whereas a handheld vacuum makes noise only while directly collecting water.

Control via smartphone

Smartphone control allows you to control the window-cleaning robot through the dedicated mobile app. From your phone, you can start and stop cleaning, select a mode, change the direction of movement, and monitor the device status—the exact set of commands depends on the model. The smartphone connection can be established via Bluetooth—for direct control nearby without a router—or via Wi‑Fi, which provides a greater connection range and may support remote access over the internet.

Additional nozzle. The second, narrower suction nozzle is designed for tight areas where using the main working edge is inconvenient. It makes it easier to clean small window sashes, sectional frames, and narrow mirrors.

Sprayer. A hand sprayer with a reservoir for water or cleaning solution that evenly wets the glass with fine droplets. It helps soften dried-on dirt and prepare the surface for wiping and subsequent collection of the liquid by the window vacuum.

Extension pole. A telescopic or sectional handle that increases the operating range of the window vacuum or the device used to apply cleaning solution. It allows you to clean the upper areas of tall windows, glass partitions, and other hard-to-reach surfaces from the floor, without a stepladder.

Remote control. Allows you to start, stop, and direct the window-cleaning robot without a smartphone. The set of commands varies by model, but a separate remote is convenient for quick local control and does not depend on mobile app compatibility.

Cable length

The cable length determines whether the corded window-cleaning robot can reach the farthest part of the glass without straining the wire. When calculating, account for the route from the outlet and adapter to the window, and arrange any excess cable so that it does not interfere with movement or the safety rope.
