Paper size
Most faxes use either
roll paper or
A4 plain paper. The main advantage of A4 paper is that it is much easier to get at any nearby store. Thermal fax paper is often available in rolls.
Modem speed
The minimum speed for faxes is typically 9.6 Kbps. Often there are options - 14.4 Kbps and 33.6 Kbps. The higher the modem speed, the faster the fax message is received or transmitted. However, if you have a fast fax, but your recipient does not, the speed will still be low, it is determined by the capabilities of the `weakest` link of the chain.
